Whatever leftovers from Christmas that I can find in the fridge.

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

I'll probably read an extra article or two, tomorrow morning, lol.

Really good for hangovers.

I'm all for starting new traditions, that sounds tasty.

Pork, collards, black eyed peas, cornbread.

As a kid we always had a hogs head. Hard to find one now.

My family has traditions for just about everything, but oddly, New Year's is one holiday they never had. Never had a specific meal for New Year's.

Well, we have decided it will be a big garden salad, grilled pork chops and roasted parsnips.

Good looking leftovers! Made one daughter Ribeye and mini reds (she has been working night shift at a local hospital while on break from college and has been craving a steak). Rest of the family got baked/breaded chicken breast, mashed with gravy, stuffing, rice and corn. Did not know that New Years day dinner was a thing. Or would not have made chicken! lol

Ribeye steak, taters and gravy, green beans and then check out the fridge to finish the meal.

Hog Maw. Pig stomach stuffed with loose sausage, cabbage and potatoes, seasoned, baked in the oven. Stomach adds a greasy pork flavor to it all.

Pig stomach made just how you described is a favorite around here, just not on New Year's Day.

Eh...wot?
