They are neat to see but this will be the last for a long while, that's probably why all the fuss. Be sure to use REAL solar glasses or filters to view unless you want to lose your eyesight.

Don't forget there is a blood moon a week before Easter.

There is a solar eclipse every day in most of the world when the earth blocks the sun. I sleep thru most of them.

If you've never been in the middle of a total solar eclipse on a clear day, you have no idea what you are missing. I've seen two, one in about 1980 in Goldendale Washington, and the other a few years ago near Eugene Oregon. While you're watching that "silver ring" overhead, take a few seconds to take a 360 degree look at the horizon. It's worth driving aways to get in a good position if the weather is good.

I’m in the path of totality also. They are warning us of the impacts of the influx of visitors. Our schools are shutting down for two days, sawmills closing down, many businesses are closing for the day. Many people are renting out camping/parking spots in their pastures.

I'm thinking I might do a big yard sale in the days leading up to the eclipse. Of course now it will be rainy for sure.

They're expecting one big traffic jam here.

Exactly what my wife said today. Also I'm scheduled off work so will be at home with the family. May be a good time to watch the bees and see how they react or go fishing.

Glad your getting to spend time with your family. I used to work a lot of overtime as you do, especially while raising the kids.

Think I read somewhere it was 50/50 whether you might have to be on the job.
