They are the most numerous duck around this time of year and when everything lined up one of my favorite to photograph.
Hope you enjoy

Beautiful pictures. Teal are the best eating ducks, IMO.

Got a gift from my brother. It was 3 AA batteries with a note that said, Gift Not Included.

Beautiful pictures Tray! I am partial to the blue wings. We kill a fair amount of green wings here but the blues are pretty rare. They are usually here and gone.

I have hunted a good bit in Florida the past few seasons and you can kill as many as you'd like down there

I'll echo the comments above, I love eating them!

GREAT pics.

Imagine mounting a duck like the first pic that you posted. Most would swear that it 'wasn't natural'. Same for the next to last pic where the wings are almost flat due to the forces instead of curved like normal.

That’s the beauty of photography, camera pics up a lot of the imperfections in the birds and you soon realize there is no normal.
These shots were all taken on a fairly calm morning yet the amount of ruffled feathers shows how hard these birds fly.

one thing that is happening is more BWT are going into the rice fields that French Guiana has made in South America and there could be a few restricted chemicals used on those fields that the ducks and especially the shorebirds are picking up eating the invertebrate life
One of the fastest band recoveries was a BWT banded here and turned up there in 7 days.

It’s amazing how when they decide to migrate they go so far so fast. I know we have had BWT show up in Mexico shortly after they were banded in SD.
