Been dealing with a pistol scope for the first time.
There is nothing quick, wide, or easy aiming about it.
Aquisition makes it target only pending more field time.
EER for you shorthand guys.

What am I missing here?

Is it on a pistol or rifle ? Because I've put long eye relief low power pistol scopes on rifles and that the right set up their faster then irons ....now the same scope on a pistol....

Hi-end Handgun, STILL fooling around with fit.
Your talk reminds me of the old scout scopes.

The one I showed is a straight up 3 power. An AR despite military shooting to 500 yards, with 5.56, is not a long range tool. Just does not have much left at that distance. That scope is set up to 0 then adjust as needed for long shots but not needed IMO. Long shots are easier with more magnification. You also need a bigger cartridge IMO for most hunting. My bolt actions are set at 6 power. I only turn them up shooting paper. When i am hunting I don't like turning stuff on the scope. Its just extra un needed movement.

I run a bunch of 2-7 I know not exactly an LPVO
also have strike eagles 1-6 and 1-8 on some of my son's guns
ARs and bolt action 308

I am building one currently an AR and it is getting a step up from the strike eagle , Viper PST FFP is 100 dollars more than the 1-8 strike eagle and more clear glass also a vortex I stopped at Cabela's today on vacation and ad a look through both side by side decided 100 more was worth the clarity.
they are running an additional 15% off currently

so that is what I am going to get for that build

as for distance inside 100 on most game
I usually leave things set at about 2x as I find it about perfect for 20-70 yards where most shots come
have taken them to 400 on targets
