The supreme Court struck down the Trump administration's bumpstock ban. They voted 6-3, with the conservative justices noting that a piece of plastic doesn't turn a semi auto into an automatic just because the trigger gets pulled faster. The liberal justices yammered about gun violence blah blah blah, in other words, their dissent didn't have anything to do with interpreting the law, which is the job of the court.

Hurray!

Just saw that. I’ve also heard that there’s a petition or something in the works about suppressors as well. They’re saying that the ATF can’t tax accessories or make them illegal to own much like the bump stocks. Of course I won’t get my money back for the tax stamps I’ve purchased, but it would make buying and getting them much faster.

Speaking of money, I wonder if those folks who turned in their bump stocks will be reimbursed. Doubt it.

I suspect a lot of bumpstocks are going to come out of hiding from closets and attics.

I doubt many have turned them in. Same with pistol braces and binary triggers.

So now everyone that was mad at Trump for the ban can now vote for him.

Maybe Trump will learn a lesson from it and not do something that stupid again.

Agree.

I don't want a bump stock but a President should never executive order our rights away. Same goes for courts and congress.

No he just showed how he understands what the 2nd means or if he knows how week he is in his conviction on it is. He is no pro 2 A man in my definition. And that's based not only on his bump stock stances but also his " I don't like. The idea of them" quote regarding suppressors. I have and will still vote for the man knowing he is the best option but I don't try to pretend he is any more than a standard politician on the 2nd and will throw us under the bus if it's seen as popular or positive for himself. Considering how he seemed to follow the NRA and the NRA's history of supporting gun control I don't have much faith in the man in this . And I severally hope to be proven wrong after he gets back in office.

The dude's got lots of issues regarding the 2a besides the bumpstock thing. If you're in to the whole 2 party system thing, then he's better than the other guy, but that's like saying eating a solid turd is better than eating diarrhea. Both of the two main choices are a big steaming pile of dooky when it comes to the 2a.

Loosegoose, you may be right, but I did like our direction towards energy independence, lower utility bills, lower gas prices, and lower grocery bills while he was in. I believe we working class had an extra 2 grand per year in our wallets if I remember correctly.

I know its hard for the Trump haters to admit, but this temporary ban stopped more serious bills that would've passed had he not, such as the Manchin-Toomey bill which had alot of support from both sides.

Remember, this came on the heels of our worst mass shooting and was used to do it.

Rational lize it however you can to keep up the delusional opinion he is pro gun pro freedom. Focus on the bump stock and forget all about the red flag laws, and openly not wanting us to have suppressors.

O boy it came out ok this time. Does not excuse or make the other comments go away. Yes I voted for him and will again but I don't make up lies and try to pretend the man is pro gun. At best he is indifferent and pro gun if it is beneficial and convenient.

So next time we have a mass shooting and the criminal uses an AR-15, you guys will be OK with politicians banning semi-automatic black guns? It will be on the heels of a mass shooting.

Your anti-2A mental gymnastics to support Trump make no sense. Respectfully, I guess.

also , while I know the public can not understand this , the use of a bump stock in that mass shooting saved more lives than it took.

I am aware this is going to be a really unpopular opinion.

because of the bump stock , most rounds went wild
because of the bump stock people where able to identified where the shots were coming from.
because of the bump stock the shooter had multiple guns fail causing breaks in the shooting.

I'm not rationalizing anything, just telling you the facts. Fact is, Trump saved you from worse laws, and your ire is wrongly pkaced, it should be towards the idiots that thought passing a gun ban/background checks at gun shows/ background checks for ANY gun you may hand down, ect.was going to fix it.
