I hear that a 50 year run of the dollar being the standard oil was traded with has come to an end. What do you figure that will do to inflation? I guess time will tell.

I would counter that by cutting off food/crop shipments to any nation participating in weakening the dollar.
Starve them into submission.

I would counter that by cutting off food/crop shipments to any nation participating in weakening the dollar. Starve them into submission. I don't think that will happen since all is going as planned.

Starve them into submission. The US did it to themselves. Going off gold and into fiat.

Maybe not, can you imagine the humanitarian outcry if we cut the food off?
We are in a position to bring them to their knees, but some people right here in this country will need to be nuetralized first.

Starve them into submission. So cut off food to the US? BRICS, and see my comment about neutralizing domestic interference above.

What currency will replace it? None, nobody will trust China, Russia, or anyone else pushing for it....Their wet dream is worldwide digital currency, social credit scores, etc

I hear that a 50 year run of the dollar being the standard oil was traded with has come to an end. What do you figure that will do to inflation? I guess time will tell. Nixon made a deal with the Saudis that we would protect their oil fields with our military if they sold it based off the American dollar. Hence, the petro dollar. Another name for our currency.

There is no evidence any pact or agreement ever existed, it is and always has been a combination of media hype and speculation with a fair amount of conspiracy thrown in.
I’m quite doubtful.
For the last 10 years Saudi Arabia has not added to its fixed income reserves. Instead, it has been putting the surplus into other international assets, mostly equities, mostly US. It has also significantly increased its own spending. This is not new and has little impact on the US$ as a reserve currency.
The strength of the US$ is the result of many factors, one of which is Saudi Arabia, but that is a minor contributor at best. Far more significant are the mercantilist trade policies of other important global economies, both developed and developing.\
FYI US Oil Production was 48% higher than Saudi Arabia as of December, 2023 according to Wiki
Not sure the agreement matters, as the US will only accept US dollars when we sell our oil.

Starve them into submission. It's a free global market. How can you punish someone for playing the game?

My peers and family laughed at me when I spoke of BRICS and the end of the petrodollar over the last few years…..and now it’s like those conversations never happened….heads in sand.
