I'm buying off murays and I like dp's because they have higher catch rate for coon and where I'm trappibg the owner has cats (one property) and doesn't want me using foothold I'm buying a dozen or 2 of 1/75 traps for k9

You will catch cats in DPs if you set enough of them. The higher catch rate is only on coon that work DPs. I guess I never thought they were the answer, just a trap with limited target animals. I have two friend that ran a coon line together and one used nothing but DP's and the other 1 1/2s. The guy running the 1 1/2s caught more coon, plus mink and fox.

the benefit of DPs is set time , reset time and they get you some properties with dogs and cats
you will eventually catch a cat , you just turn them loose , they get into worse things being barn cats or feral cats.
other benefits are you can put a Gatorade bottle over them and keep bait dry through a soaker of a rain
down sides , they have to be food driven
you only catch , coon , possum , skunks
and that as long as the snow isn't over the top they don't freeze up as much

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Never caught a cat in a DP, but Grays have fallen victim to them. Then again, you could probably catch a Gray with a box, stick, and string. Ghers a few guys in La that use DP's to target grey fox

Plain jaw or double jaw 1 1/2 for coon, fox, skunk and opossum. If your thinking coyotes too, consider 1 3/4 for a little more size.
