I am going to be making a rotating beaver trough plus a table to board them. I am thinking I could just make the base a permanent thing and then have different tops to put on top of the table like a trough and/or a boarding table. Any ideas on how I could do that. Or if anyone has a better idea I would love to hear them. Thanks!

If you weld or have a local welder in town, get him to weld up two pieces of pipe one bigger and one smaller to fit inside, and get him to weld two 1/4 invh plates to each, one for a base you can lag to the floor, and one to screw into a tabletop or trough or whatever. A local trapper here had a protable otter fleshing bat that rotated with a foot pedal,He called it his Ottermatic.

I use a swivel chair base with chair removed for boarding/unboarding. Bottom of the base fits perfectly on large trash can which is handy for trimmings when boarding and staples when removing. I stand in one spot and rotate board. It’s also high enough so it don’t have to bend over. Works good for me. Me too.
My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

I started with a vertical 3’ length of 2” sq tube welded to a base which has TWO set of hide clamps(hi/low) attached mounted under my electric hoist for long/medium animal. Then a rotating metal beaver trough(from ADC) can be dropped into tube, or locking rotating table for skinning small animals or boarding beaver and fleshing board for mink/m’rats be attached. With now older hands I skin beaver to the ears in the trough then lift beaver by the tail with hoist to finish the head. The weight of the loose hanging hide does all the pulling work for my hands. Only adds a couple of minutes to skinning time and really saves my hands. I’d post photo but fur room is filled with building material for new addition under construction.
I've learned enough thru the years to now know that I don't know enough. KNOWLEDGE IS FREEDOM.

I made one much simpler: Took a metal 55 gallon drum, stood it on it's end and drilled a hole in the center. Took a 3/4 inch half sheet of plywood drilled a hole in the middle of it. Put it on top of barrel and dropped a 16 penny nail in the 2 holes. Wallah, a spinning table at just the right height that can be taken apart and stored out of the way in 2 seconds. I like it redneck ingenuity.

I think I have seen something that is pretty close to what your describing. And I think its a great idea.

My favorite part of the above post is "Wallah". Shucks, didn't know Eric spoke French!
