Getting ready to hunt this September prepping for a month long hunt if necessary in a camper boondocking it. Long list of supplies need to be gathered so I started early. Tracked a package a few weeks ago it made it to my local PO then the tracking said undeliverable but the next day it was delivered in my mail box? I thought it weird that a mail box could be undeliverable one day then OK the next.

So last Monday tracking another package it says delivered to individual at residence but that never happened, the wife and I were both home that day no package to be found. I checked every outbuilding, vehicle even the BBQ Grill but nothing. Waited 2 days but zip so I called the PO today the delivery guy was gone for the day on his route (like she could have called him) So I reported it to Midway by email will see what they say.

Here we go, Let the games begin!

Same here but that’s the way they shipped it to me I’m lucky I have the time to straighten it out just not looking forward to dealing with the USPO it’s never simple trying to get anywhere with them.

The problem with USPS is, I sent a book to a guy who lives 15 miles from me through our local PO. It took 5 days for him to get the book. It went to Atlanta and a couple other cities first before he got it, according to tracking. crazy

More and more when I go anywhere I find myself keeping track of where the nearest rest room is.

Found out the hard way insurance means nothing with the USPS, don't waste your $$, or ship anything valuable through them.

They have no idea what they are doing. I can't remember the times they get the package within 20 mi of here then instead of bringing it the next day they send it back to St Louis 100 mi for another 2 or 3 day wait. Last year they took a combine bearing 30 mi past me. When i saw it on tracking I called that post office and asked if it would come here the next day or would it have to go back to St Louis and he said ST. Louis. I asked if he could hold that and I went right then and got it.

Last Fri I ordered a piece and for $2.99 extra could get it UPS and got it yesterday on Tues. I guess USPS is going bust and need more money, wonder why?

I sent a box of books to my grand daughter in California, from Ohio. It shipped “media” rate, which is cheaper. The box arrived two days earlier than they said it would.

Still not as bad as Fedex.

The other day I had a package coming via Fedex. Got an email stating that the address they had was wrong and the package could not be delivered. Looked at the address they had. It was correct. Called the number they gave and got nothing but robots. Eventually got to a place where the robot asked if I was the shipper or receiver. When I said receiver, the robot said only the sender could change the address and to contact them, then hung up on me.

Called back again. After navigating 30 minutes of robots, finally got a live person who barely knew English. Explained the whole situation to her. She says "Only the sender can change the address, you need to contact them." I said, "The address is correct, it does not need to be changed, the package just needs to be delivered." She said, "You need to contact the sender and-" I interrupted her and said "and what?? Tell them that address they have is correct but the people at Fedex obviously don't know how to read so can they call Fedex and tell them that the address IS CORRECT?"

Silence. I thought she'd hung up on me when finally she said "please hold." Another half hour wait on hold and she informed me that they would re-deliver my package the next day. They did.

Today the only thing that takes longer than finding a number to call is getting them to pick up the phone. It’s obvious they just want you to give up and go away I’ll see what Midway has to say I know dealing with the USPO is a waste of time they would spend $200 worth of effort to deny a $20 claim I’ve been through that before.

the USPS can be good or bad depending on the employee of the day

my mon-sat guy is great we chat some times been around the 20 years I have lived here.

the fill in guy is ok he gets things here , but may dump a package over the fence rather than set it behind the mail box

the Sunday amazon delivery stuff those people are useless. they drive here from the city , they will not even drive by some times and just say undeliverable or if they do drive by say dog threatening.
well I am not asking you to enter the yard I would prefer if you didn't just set it behind the mail box
any time they deny deliver the package I could have gotten Monday morning if they hadn't wasted time on Sunday now gets here Tuesday because it gets delivered to my post office Monday afternoon.

the postal employees in my parents village are so bad that my parents went to a Mail service , it is next to the grocery store about a mile away they drive over and get the mail every couple days or if they know they have a package delivered.
UPS , FED-EX , USPS everything goes to the box the people at the place will text dad that he has a package.

the post master strait up said if a package says that the return service is guaranteed , he will send it back if you haven't picked it up before the truck leaves for the day. because it is USPS getting paid 2x for the package 3 when it gets sent to the customer again.

US mail was pretty bad this spring.

I had a lot of issues. Sent a package two hours away that took nine business days to arrive. Had an incoming order that bounced back and forth between two distribution centers three times.

FedEx express is horrible. In five years they have YET to deliver a package correctly to me. Our address won’t show up in Google correctly, but the street signs are clearly marked, and correct. If the driver would pull his nose out of his screen he’d see his mistake. Luckily it’s a small town and I always get my package.

The postmaster here will send back the random Christmas card if it has my old PO Box address on it even though the Post Office is the size of a camper.

Never use FedEx.
Preferably UPS, then if need be, USPS.

Sounds like it was delivered to the wrong person who returned it to them then sent to you.

Fed X and UPS are both better then USPS for me. They busted my carrier stealing graduation cards from kids. But you still can't tell it is any better.

I've done over 1,500 selling deals on ebay and almost exclusively have used USPS. I can count the number of issues I've had on both hands, probably with a finger or two to spare. Law Dog, maybe you just live in a USPS "twilight zone" along with the other folks that said they have constant package problems with USPS.

However, I do cringe a bit that all the secondary SD processing places now going to be eliminated for main processing through Omaha and then mailing packages back into South Dakota.

I mailed an overnight letter to a judge that took two weeks to get. Court was already over when he got it. Paid my electric bill and insurance bills and mailed them. Took 30 days to go 15 miles.. needless to say we don't do anything thru the post office anymore. I call and pay my bills. Quicker and I know it gets there. All those postal employees are gonna be shocked when they lose their pensions.
