also if you are dealing with nuisance raccoons and such trap away but you would want to be able to tie that fox to a chicken house attack or something before you want to be trapping good fur out of season.

if you want to play with sets make them but don't set steel and set that trail cam to take video , much you can learn from how they work a set

check some of Hobbietrapper's old posts he had some good sets with trail cams pre season like that to see how they worked what

then you don't have to check it just check the camera

Getting caught and fined for trapping a fox out of season might have been another first for you too. I really doubt you want that kind of interaction with a conservation officer to be your first. Pay attention to ALL of your game laws. How many people would want you trapping on their property if they were to find out you have been convicted of game law violations?

It might be good for Northern Trapper to get a PA trapping rules and regs. Also there are 11 districts in the PA trapping Assn. I am sure there are members near by that can offer guidence. I questioned the legality of trapping fox in July also but others addressed that already. A few weeks ago we saw 3 dozen DPs on a thread, after there was discussion of not having funds for much less gear and now we have canine sets in the ground! Things have changed a lot rapidly.

Wardens DO monitor these sites. Check your laws make sure you are doing the right thing.

As much as he posts I'm suspicious he had any sets out. I think he would of told us.
