How often do you look to see what state a person lists they are from when reading posts? If you do, why? Just curious.

Seeing views and observations of a multitude of things that I’m not familiar with, ideologies I don’t understand, folks who say you all instead of y’all…

Pretty much all of those that are new on here. Most , I have memorized.

Often you can tell by what they type and respond on a post just different ways of socializing in different places.

All the time, especially when someone mentions hunting or trapping an animal that we don't have here. I.e. Pocket gopher, pack rat, 13 line ground squirrels, and big game.

If they're asking a question I'll look to see where they're from.

If they're from MT or WY and are asking about check times or certain conditions I won't answer because my rules and theirs are probably hugely different.

I only look at the pics, so just when I see a cool or unusual photo.
And in fairness, I tried to save others the bother with my name.

Knowing states or locations to me is valuable especially when discussing trapping related issues, regs etc. Also when talking about plants, agriculture etc., knowing the location is helpful.

Always, gives me a giggle when someone replies from a much different area/climate.. example: I wouldn't take advice for cold weather gear from someone living south of the Mason Dixon line.. call that foolishness..I'm good with that.

I learned about 30 years ago the sell the same winter coat in Las Vegas as they do in WI it is how we wear them and how we acclimate to temperature

I was in Vegas between Christmas and new years with a light jacket watching people think they were freezing to death

I was at the beach with my kids in Nov in SC water was 80 warmer than a lot of lakes ever get in WI it was a Sunny 64 locals looked like they were freezing to death all bundled up with a scarf and hat , we were running around in swim suits fishing and playing in the water.

I appreciate what you're saying but Wi winters aren't ND winters, wind matters...or I could say trees matter.

I often look, as states have varying regs. Allows an answer to be pertinent to the subject matter. Doesn't make any sense to discuss what allowed in my state if it isn't allowed in theirs.
