What's your choice of camo?

In my opinion, NOTHING beats an overlayer than
cheap bug suit provides.
I giggle at those that spend 500.00± dollars on a Sitka ,FirstLight type outfit thinking it's gonna hide them better. Lol.
The VAST MAGORITY that hunt can and will do just fine wearing cheap Walmart hoody/ sweat pants and putting a 20$ bug mesh suit over the top.
Case in point.
This Camo craze drives me nutts . [Linked Image]

So what say you? Does a 200$, a 100$ or a 10$ jacket blend in better?

Everything within 10 miles is running away. You cant see an animal unless you have a $3000 "outfit" on. All must match! And those boots? Walmart? Or $500 high end ones? How about your truck? Gotta be a lifted diesel with tires sticking out a foot . Bow? cant shoot anything unless its a hoyt or mathews.

I don’t buy anything to “hide” me. I buy it to keep me comfortable. I froze as a kid, yeah even down here, and I refuse to be uncomfortable while hunting whether it’s 20 degrees or 80 degrees. My hunting clothes cover me for anything I might encounter here or the PNW. So I spend money on quality clothes with a lifetime guarantee. I don’t think your Walmart sweat pants and bug suit is gonna do you much good if you get stuck in rainstorm that turns to snow when you’re 5 miles deep.

I know a guy who shoots big deer every year and he wears flannel shirts. Being still and a good back drop is key. Commercial camo catches more hunters money than kills deer. Nobody can convince me otherwise.

I encourage people to buy Mathews. It helps our tax base since they're made here. I don't own one though. Ha!

Depends on where we hunt.

What part of the country and time of year.

On the ground or up a tree.

For me...I need some green just about year round. And I rarely hunt from the ground, except for turkey.

Science says deer can only see shades of yellow and blue...rest in black, white, and gray.

But, like you...I dont buy expensive camo for the pattern....only for the durability and warmth, if needed.

Sitka and Nomad is NOT in my closet.

Your right Wanna Be. However, my 100$ pair of Car harts with a 20$ set of bug suits will do just fine. wink

This is my normal deer hunting set up that goes along with the lawn chair and cigg mentioned in the other post, lol.

Proudly banned from the NTA.

Bother me tomorrow. Today I'll buy no sorrows.

Faded carharrt canvas color or military desert pattern blends in the best around here. Most hunting camos are too dark and tight for around here, even the desert type hunting camo. My hunting buddies have a hard time seeing me when stalking out west to give me signals on were to go during a stalk. But with their commercial camo patterns I can keep pretty good taps on them.

Me too! Deer season is open in any month of the year with an "R" in it. That includes Jurly and Aurgust.

And who is your striking male model that wears SHORTS?

Hey, Grandpa said it so it must be true! He used to say something else twice a year too but I best not put it on here. It is hilarious, but not worth the vacation.

I don’t think it much matters for deer, but I’m a big ASAT or predator guy. The boldness of the black really helps to break up a silhouette.

100% Leafywear suit for turkey.

For waterfowl, as long as my hands and face are covered, I don’t think it much matters as I’m always behind something (a blind) or in the shadows.

Get into crow hunting and get back to me on good camo.

I don’t stress over camo. I don’t hunt crazy like you guys but I never bothered too much with what I was wearing. Although I am very adamant about fluorescent orange requirements when needed because people are morons and I don’t need my mother getting the news that I’ve been blown to smithereens
