Do you mean the insect? They are the coolest insect I have ever seen. Don’t know they’re purpose but they are really interesting.

Maybe just to provide us mere mortals pleasure and allow us to marvel at His ingenuity.

What is the purpose of any leaf-eating insect?

Their camouflage is very interesting though.

Eh...wot?

Don't think I've ever seen a walking stick, but praying mantis are protected on my property.

No, they are leaf-eaters, mostly the leaves of deciduous trees.

Are you thinking of the praying mantis? They are insect-eaters.

Eh...wot?

Putting up a few tree stands in MO not so long ago found a pair under the seat. I’ve always thought walking sticks and praying mantis were cool and unusual maybe because you don’t see them often.

That's great Hern, most of the ones I see are on my front screen door too. We have loads of praying mantis around here, brown and green. Not lots of walking sticks that I noticed though

I hadn't seen walking sticks for 20 years until I moved to MS. Now I've seen three or four over the past several years. They're one of my favorite bugs.
