I would imagine bulk urine gets filtered to prevent spoilage. Fresh, natural urine wont keep well unless you freeze it or dump preservatives in it.

SNIPERBBB, or anyone else. pee in a jar and let it sit a few days. There will be sediment in the bottom. Its supposed to be there. You cant filter it out. That sediment (coyote fox or bobcat) is a good lure if you drain the urine off it. I just give my dispenser a good shake mixing it back in. I give the jug a good shake before putting it in a dispenser.

I have bought urine before that wasn't and all the color settled out and the stuff was clear a year later.

Collecting good urine is expensive and labor intensive. Building a collection cage costs. You need feed. I feed whole cottontails froze then cut in half. feeding it froze keeps the cage clean. Feeding half a day is enough to keep them going and small enough they are hungry and eat it quick.

You're not using the right filter if you can't filter out sediments. You can drink Chicago sewer water with the right filter .

Bladder urine Danny, but I've done both, keeping them live and collecting from carcasses.

I’ve bought red fox urine and have gotten good stuff and bad stuff. I only buy it when I’m running low of the bladder-collected urine I normally use. Danny is right, urine collected straight from the critter doesn’t go bad. I don’t even refrigerate mine season to season.

I make an incision and pull the bladders out of red fox after I skin them. A full bladder makes me happy.

I have a good pictorial/tutorial on it here in the archives somewhere.

Eh...wot?

I know this is gonna be difficult, but all you have to do is google "Trapperman best place to buy coyote urine" and this pops up with the guys name in it multiple times https://trapperman.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/7608920/coyote-urine

We use 190 Micron filters and run each gallon 2X on all of our urine. It does a great job for filtering small insects, and other impurities that can contaminate the urine over time. However, still some of the sediment will filter thru. After the bottles set for a while you will begin to see some sediment in the bottom of the bottles even after filtering well. Not near as much sediment as the non filtered urine sediment.

I collect my own urine Red fox and coyote. I will say if I had to choose I would say red fox urine is to me the best universal urine for catching coyotes, red fox, gray fox and bobcats. The urine ME and my trapping partner will be starting our season with this year is 2 years old. Sitting in 100 degree temperature in my shop. Dark with settlement on the bottom of all the gallon jugs. I send a few gallons a year to different notably trappers that would pour it out if it wasn't good. There is a little effort put into collecting quality urine. I have my own guidelines and it works for me. If you are new to the coyote, fox or bobcat trapping world I would be happy to help you out. You can give me a call I will be happy to send you some buddy. Plenty of people on this site help me every year with my wounded warriors trapping event and it is very much appreciated. Good urine does help but nothing works without hard work Plenty of good trapping ground and as often said on here setting on sign.
You can give me a call anytime I will send you a free gallon buddy.

Lots of spot on info here, and a nice offer to boot!

Moral of the story is, your catches can provide you with what you're looking for. Don't worry about setting dozens of traps just to have dozens out, but perfect your sets with best quality ingredients.

You can go a lot finer on filters(drinking water filters are sub micron) though you'll strip out a lot of the "flavor".

I don't think people like John Graham and Bob Jameson is going to sell inferior stuff. They have their reputations.
