I harvested some potatoes today. I got some potatoes that turned green from Sun exposure. I know I should not eat them because of the solanine. Is it to late to plant them and get a harvest out of them? First average frost here is around October 22nd.

They are a red potato.

Some years I haven't hilled the potatoes as well as I should have and gotten some green on them. I have never heard that you shouldn't eat them. I guess I should be dead already.

Boco is right....you'd have to eat a bushel of green potatoes to have any affect. Don't try to store green potatoes for a long time. They wont keep.

You have to eat close to a pound of potatoes with solanine in them to have serious medical problems, but it tastes bitter and pretty bad too. I am going to just replant the green potatoes and hope they produce some more before frost kills the plants.

The worst to happen is they won't sprout and grow.
Then again like you said try it, at least you'll get small new potatoes.

Little potatoes, I like the ones around an inch or so in diameter, make great “Salty Potatoes”.

they do have a slight bitter taste but never even gave me an upset stomach
