Trying to load our last steer into the trailer.

He was not willing to load so I got in the 30'x40' bull pen to turn him and push him to load.

He turned on me ignoring the White hvy. Fiberglass rod to the nose. [Linked Image]

Back of my leg two days later...Much pain.

You were lucky. I know of two people who did the same as you that lost their lives. Hope you heal up quickly!

No fun.
Punchin cows is all fine and dandy until one punches back. That is why we all should leave it to the younger fellas. 1 they git outta the way faster and 2 if they fail that, they heal up faster.

Not a cattle hand here, but I do recall swapping out the last Angus bull my grandfather had when I was a kid. The gentle fellow put his head into the bucket of the tractor so hard when he realized what was happening that he rendered himself almost unconscious. Made it easier to get him to the "back 40".

Sorry for your pain.

But, for your next selfie, you might consider a pair of boxers....

I hope you feel better as soon as possible Scott. I am sorry to say it, but you're probably going to feel worse tomorrow.

Wow you were lucky. Maybe I don't want to bother putting in fence so I can get cows. Last thing I want is my wife or kids geting that cloes to them.

Working cattle isn’t for the faint of heart. Lots of the pain I now experience are from cattle that needed an attitude adjustment. Eric

Glad to hear you’re okay Scott. Handling cattle never goes as expected. Gates are your friend, lots of gates.

How are you doing today, I'm guessing more sore?

And now that you mentioned it your shorts are visible. Got to watch getting the ladies excited like that.

My wife tends to forget their animals and not pets, I remind her all the time. I carry a fiberglass pole and an old aluminum 34" bat when moving them. I have had to use the skidsteer a time or two also. Had a bull try to beat up the skidsteer once, was an interesting tussle as I was sitting in it. Get well.

That is why I don’t mess with critters I can’t drop with a shovel in an emergency. My buddy had a pet bull go after him bottle fed never any issues then boom it was on. It was pinning him against the barn wall and pushing him along the wall, lucky they came to a door and he was pushed out of the doorway and got clear.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!
