The best trap is worthless without a good trapper. The trapper is the important thing, not the trap ...This Plus, if you're setting your DJs for mink you'd better be prepared to catch every raccoon in 3 counties along the way LOL.
Just happy to be here.

Yeah okay one any one using 1.5s specifically for coyotes is not doing so with out issues trust me dudes a liar if he says the word never. OP is looking for sound advice not bull crap. To be fair, I have heard guys talk about getting yotes in their fox sets in 1.5's. Who on this earth is using a 1.5 for coyote Is beyond me though.

Well guys my first no bs 1.5s regular jaws where horrible but I tried out a few no bs dj for some coons and the one had chewed but it still held it and I caught a feral cat by its chest hair, no I’m not even kidding so I am really liking no bs djs but I’m scared to buy some cause my first batch had the jaws popping off when I caught a coon.

Could someone give me brands and sizes of traps? Dukes are cheap and that is the only brand I will not consider

That's odd. I got the first generation after Kendall started making them not the modified dukes he was selling. There really isn't a new mainstream production trap today that won't reliably hold coon. For dryland coon I might switch to MB 459s, I might checkout the new duke versions if anyone has em this weekend

If you are super concerned about foot issues you should probably just stick to dps. I don't know any trap that's going to give you perfect feet every time on land. I have one property where I get paid well to trap coon. I had three get out on that place last season. This year I'm trying Duke 450s...pretty pricey trap for coon, but worth it if it holds more of those expensive coon. Every where else if I lose a coon it's no big deal. Otherwise #11s have about the least damage but you don't want to cover them much. Sterling just came out with a nice looking #11, I would not buy the Dukes. I just would rather use a 1.5 no BS or 1.75 bridger on land because they generally hold everything, and the #11 is a bit small for coyote....
Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

As far as feet issues with coon double laminated 1.5's with just the right amount of offset is the best thing I found when I sold some live to dog hunters. But it's gotta be the right amount of offset. Too much you'll get sliding not enough and the foot falls asleep and we'll....also a off set base plate with a setting swivel seems to help qlsot vetter run a crunch proof , they clean out way better
Dps honestly ain't much better , feet will look good but...
Just moved to cages honestly

Guys down here use MB450’s for live sell of coyotes all the time. Not everyone needs a #3 or #4 for coyotes or cats.
