We just got word that some hack has threatened to do harm to the kids and faculty at my granddaughters school..
I know I can’t do what I’m thinking,,, but I want to go up there with my .38 and sit inside the classroom and guard these kids.
I don’t know why we don’t have armed guards protecting these kids!!
It would be a simple solution to have retired cops or fully vetted veterans, who are good with guns and not afraid to use them. Wouldn’t cost the taxpayer a penny.
I also believe that if we have money to send elsewhere, to help them defend themselves,,, then we have the money to put metal detectors in our schools…

i feel you we had a bomb threat last year it was a big deal and all the teachers and taxpayers were against paying for a school guard.

The democrat politicians have their own armed security, but deny armed security for American children.

There should be a specific CCW certification specifically for teachers / school workers. Maybe its a three month course that you have to pass. Maybe it includes a lock box in your classroom. Maybe its Federally ran by competent ATF instructors so that all of the classes would be the same across the country. You'd have to make sure it was a good effective class / certification and roll it out properly. Then teachers, janitors, and the such that have backgrounds like us have the ability to do just that. Nothing Federally ran will work like that though. It could be done with the right people but it wont ever happen. I always wondered why they didn't have a special cert for carrying in a school though. Like an extensive training and certification program specifically for schools. Only the workers comfortable with such a thing would have to do it. Sure seems like it would work if you ironed out all of the bureaucracy and some of the details.

My opinion would be that you would need someone who knows firearms well and not afraid to use them if unfortunately the moment of truth becomes a reality.
Would those teachers and janitors freeze up and second guess themselves?

The point I was trying to make is that there are teachers and janitors with our experiences that we could enable to be armed. Not to arm clueless teachers and janitors. In my mind the course would help weed out the timid and weak which most of would likely choose to not carry. Police freeze up though too. You couldnt 100% prevent it.

My kid school has 1 member that carries all the time, the general public doesn't know who it is, also they go through a special training through a paid service. They have bullet proof glass and doors stay locked all the time, if there is an intruder my wife's job is to lock her self in the safe and man the radios watching all the cameras informing what teacher can leave the building depending the hall the intruder is at. We have a cop show up in the mornings and evenings as kids come in and leave but none stay.. but I agree all schools should have some one or two that carries all the time.

each state and or school board can already approve it
anything Federal is a plan designed to fail from the get go , hardly a gov project or program that isn't any more.

programs that don't fail can't ask for more funding

always more more more , more of your money , more of your rights , more control on you , all for not , all so that it can fail again so they can ask for more.

the only control I have any trust in is local control
a locally elected sheriff
local personnel who have skin in any issue/solution.
then if it is tax dollars at least it stays here.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Our local county schools were shut down today also due to a threat. Eric

I wish we could find common ground on protecting kids , but I just do not see it as possible it is probably going to have to be 300 different solutions.
hopefully putting together a good plan that 200 can slightly adjust and call their own will work.

We didn't have these issues when we grew up? Why don't they fix the real issue? Oh that's right, then they couldn't keep pushing for gun control.

We have a cop in every school here. It does cost the taxpayers quite a bit.

Even with metal detectors kids are getting guns and knives by them in the city schools here.

Nobody being held accountable is a major problem nowadays.

Kids see other kids get only a slap on the hand. In the last school shooting they already knew about that kid and did nothing.

News, media give these kids all the exposure they crave. This in my eyes gets the monkey-see monkey-monkey do mentality amped up in these kids and gets more doing it. Exposure from the media should be limited in my opinion.

Interesting, ours had a threat called in for yesterday. An increased police presence was at all the schools, but school went on as normal.

A big problem, is that most teachers, being rabid liberals, don't want guns in schools. It makes it hard to terrify kid about guns, when they know guns are being used to protect them.
