My wife loves camping ,fishing of any kind and deer hunting.
She don't care for calling varmints and hasn't had an interest in trapping yet.
She's always ready to go.

On the flip side.
If you have a woman that you want rid of, take her fishing during the Mayfly hatch. She will find her own way home, guaranteed !

That's what dating is for! You don't have to go to only places SHE wants to go to, If she doesn't want to try your thing, that's when you cut her loose and keep looking.

Like wolf said woman want to tell you how they are feeling but men want to fix things it’s not the same and rather confusing at times the less said the better often because you will try to fix things. LOL

THEN, and only once you understand yourself will you understand the other pieces of the puzzle.

1. God forsaken punishment in (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) - Hooked up for all the wrong reasons and thought you two would "grow" into something. Ended up resenting each other and never fulfilling your spouses' needs.

2. Utility - Just a functioning marriage. Compatible, Caring, but not deeply involved. She does her thing, he does his thing and a few arguments over who's family event your stuck going to. Loyality and dedication to a promise is about all that keeps it together.

3. Indescribable Bliss - Its the most incredible ride you can be on in life. Nothing compares to the adventures the both of you take together and the incredible memories made. Both want the other to succeed in everything they do. Year pass by in the blink of an eye and every day you both elevate each other.

I'm probably at about 2.9 on the above. My wife prefers to not fish/hunt and I hate shopping. Rarely does a day go by that we don't make each other's life better. So hard to describe or define. But she creates a desire in me to always be the best and I know I am the King of her world as she is always my Goddess of Love. I'm very fortunate to have found the right one almost 40 years ago to share a life with.

Probably a simpler method is "The Door Test". If you don't know, look it up on youtube

That is very insightful
everyone wants a 3 , way to many people fall into #1 and those are often short lived , #2 often fall apart after the kids are out of the house , know a bunch of divorces where the kids were in high school or college or even a touch later and there wasn't much of a reason for loyalty and promise and they realized they were unhappy and not getting any younger so they split , they could look for #3

2.7-2.9 is not a bad place to be at , at all.

but your shopping for a 3 when dating , young folks

I had to look up the door test
it might not work so well in todays world of key fabs and automatic doors but you can find some litmus test like that.

like she takes the line and pulls the boat off the trailer when you get it backed in and takes it around the dock on her own and has it tied off and has gotten in and is organizing her things.
they might need to be shown some of that the first time if they are new to boats or your boat setup.

a lot can be learned about people by boat launch interactions.

Do a good job vetting your in-laws. They can make life a pain. Take a good look at your future wife's mom and aunts. She will look like one of them in the future. wink

My witch is nothing like her mother. However, I Agee about spending a lot of time around her family. You’ll see certain tendencies come out that are deeply rooted in them[Linked Image]

My first date with the lady that would become my wife was actually a fishing trip. Of course I was a catch and release fisherman and she was a load the live well type. We just celebrated 28yrs in July and she’s still a load the live well type, lol! We’ve shared many a weekend in a pop up camper at deer camp with her killing her fair share of deer, too.
With that said, you’ll each have things you enjoy so don’t be afraid to each do y’all’s own thing either. I enjoy traveling for turkeys, 2 weeks at a time. She has no desire to go.
She enjoys cruises. I go on a couple every now and then, but only if it’s a family thing. She’s going even if it’s by herself and I have no problem with that.
We buy what we want through the year, but still get each other a little something for the holidays.
Remember, you’re not always right and she’s not always wrong.
Most of all, it’s easy to “love” someone, but it takes someone special to be “in love” with them. If you don’t love her more tomorrow than you did today, then she’s not the one.

Been married 55 years. My advice is the same if you are in line at the bank and 2 guys in ski masks come in. Keep your mouth shut. Do what your told. Nobody gets hurt.

Interesting topic!!!
It's not what you say but how you say it. The best don't say anything.

Give me a fish, I will eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I will eat for a lifetime

24 years in and the kids are all adults now , some still living in the house but working and going to college.

so re-finding the things you used to do and how you want to do them going forward is a bit of re-discovery.

not empty nesting exactly but , send the kids a txt and tell them we are gone for the weekend take care of your dogs and don't burn down the house we will be back Monday sort of stuff then go fishing.

The woman you marry will not be the same woman you married. It's just a matter of time.
A woman's heart is fickle. It's like trying to trap on rocky ground. I can read no sign.
If they didn't smell nice, our species would go extinct.
