Been running Tsumura bars on my 20" & 28" for the last couple decades. Long story short my 28" is bent bad (bar Vs Duramax) and my 20" bar is finally getting real sloppy. My needs are a little better than middle of the pack. Don't need highest, I'm not a logger. Just managing a couple hundred acres and use them a few times a month. Quality Vs price point, any other brands I should consider before doing the same as I always do?? (Jonsered 2255 and 2165)

I really like stihl bars, every time I use another brand I'm disappointed for some reason or another.

Do the Stihl bars now have grease ports for the sprocket or still just the carried chain oil?

Just chain oil. That is likely why I prefer them, my guys and admitingly myself would never remember to grease them as evidenced by the last tsumara bar sprocket locking up.

Delaminating, sprockets locking up,seemingly getting bent very easily. I've just not had luck with other brands. It could be that my guys don't value the "off brand" stuff as well and are just harder on it. My local shop is always trying to push non stihl bars saying they're just as good but I haven't found that to be the case.

I've tried about everything, but I've been happiest with the Tsumuras. I switched to them from sugihara when it got tough to find .063 gauge Sugis a few years back. Sugis are great, if you can find the length/gauge you need.

Like the Stihl German made Rollomatic .063 ES bars up to 25"...Machined out of a solid billet & heavy, but built like a tank.

I have all Oregon's at the moment
on my 2166 a 24 and a 28
my 2255 I am running a 18inch inch

the Oregon power match make fire wood happen and not too bad for price , most of what my local dealer carries.

definitely check out Bailys online

I just bought a 32” Laser, but I heard they’re made by Tsumaras. I like it.

When you guys are talking about Bailey, do you mean the one in woodland California? I need a couple new bars and a new clutch retainment nut for my old 702 evl echo.

I like Cannon's, but you already said you don't need top of the line. So I'd suggest sugi hara if you like a tough bar and don't mind some weight, and if weight is an issue and you don't mind excessive flex, the Stihl lightweight bars are okay. In a pinch Oregon bars work, but they haven't made a decent bar since they discontinued the chrome pro series, they cut straight for about a month, then they're a cut-out bar. But I'm falling and bucking high dollar export and music wood mostly, so my needs and preferences aren't universal.

After 50 years and Still working as a professional logger and industrial forester, I do not ever put grease in the bar sprocket port. Also, all loggers I have known in my area and the ones still using a chainsaw today ,(most do not use chainsaws much anymore) never grease their bar tips. I have never had any problem burning up bar tips, they get enough bar oil to lube the bearings. It has been my experience greased tips do not last as long as none grease tips. Also my CTR bar slasher with 3/4 pitch saw chain , 58” bar with roller nose only gets lubed with the auto bar oiler, still has original roller nose.

Yes , that’d be the one. Though they have a lot of parts they often outsource parts. Plus they now charge something like 8.5% sales tax no matter where you are.

And you can't shop online, you have to call them, but Madsen's down in WA state is gonna have the best selection and pricing on bars, chain rolls (or loops), powerheads, anything related to the timber industry

I’m with Donner on this one. Stihl bars hold up the best for me. I like the way they keep oil flying even when dirty. Bent a couple Oregon bars in the scabbard on 4 wheeler and snow machine. Had sprockets go bad on a couple off brands after a week of cutting, foresters I think.

Depends on weather or not you buy a homeowner bar or a replaceable tip ( pro) model.

Just like the saws !
