Good job 330. I see you use MB750's. I like the traps but I am having issues with ring offs. I have been using cable drowners and see you are using rods. Do you think that would be the difference?

Nice work! Those Belisles are nasty!

To Backroadarcher: Rods take them down to deep water faster than cable is what I found.

Could be, more flex in cable.

I've used Wire in the 80's
cable and Chain in the 90's
re-rod and or Fiberglass rods Since 200!

If I was going to target the front foot I would use a smaller trap. The bigger the trap the more likely it is to hang up, and not turn with the beaver. If the trap spins with the beaver there is no way it can ring off. I have held beaver alive in a 1 3/4 by a front foot more then once..

10' Re rod is heavier but works great with an angled piece of condit for a slide

I don't know where to buy more Fiberglass rods like I got years ago
