Just curious about the Gadwall on your list. On the Pacific and Rocky mountain flyway they have a big gamey taste.....even after they eat rice for a month. I've eaten lots of them but never one that was a good table duck.
Maybe where you are it is different.

Honorable mentions: Bufflehead drake and Canvasback drake Oh, C'mon . . . Seriously?!?!?!? You left out pintails!!! Dang, how does a greenwing beat our a pintail, or a widgeon even? #disappointed
