We had one positive caselast year in our township. I have since processed 3 deer this year and awaiting results. I am totally fissed of that we have yet to get results. 2 of them have been over 3 weeks. Like they didn't see this coming . Absolutely a total miss on the odnr.

Ridiculous they haven't got this down pat.

Did you have the early gun season in your county?

I wouldn't worry about it unless you eat organs.

it is more likely your DNR are encouraging the spread rather than working to keep it from spreading

the more carrion eaters you have the more likely it is to spread

year round crow season , as well as other carrion eaters that can make large jumps in where the disease is present.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Yep....can't stop CWD. If ya don't already have it in your area....you will.

What DNR agencies are doing will not stop anything. They're just finding where its at and "monitoring" it.

The most effort should be spent researching if they can get it to make the jump from venison to humans thru contact or consumption.

If that ever happens.....well y'all know.

Yup ,I had an aunt die from the CJ she never ate deer that we know of lived down your way in NW GA since the 80s , was in UK in the 90s for a short time but it also just naturally occurs to some extent
she passed in 2021 a few months after the diagnosis.

Had a cow elk test positive this year, we will eat her but not share the meat.
Our test results took 3-4 days, maybe sooner as I just checked for them in that time frame.

We have already eaten some of her before we got test results, very tender !!

Spreading in Ky Ft knox military base is now in CWD zone. Can't transport any whole animals outside it now. Coyotes and buzzards will get fat if you have to field process every deer. Not many does be shot Haven't read the exact rules on it yet.

Hey we have elk in KY now !! But that has nothing to do with the CWD spread......

Randy, what happened in WI? It doesn't seem like they are doing much here. There are dropoff boxes around but i have some friends that never did hear back on the tests.

With as many states that are now showing deer and elk with signs or positive cases, it would be good in the near future to have these departments work together with each other to help develop more universal and common ways to test for and also control and abatement programs. Some of the states have been dealing with CWD for 40 years or more. I have had 2 deeer tested and yes the wait time was months not weeks.

Because there is nothing they can do.
