No deer were seen by me this morning, geese were flying south. My other nephew shot a doe this morning,I'm heading out now to set two coyote sets, then back to a deer stand.18 above now, starting to make ice...I might go down south of Moorhead after Thanks Giving and hunt a few pheasants.I have never hunted wild pheasants in Mn,out west in Montana was the last pheasant hunting I did, that was 26 years ago...

No doe showed this evening,a little six pointer dang. Two more chances for a doe,my middle brother sat in the ground blind looking for the big 10,no show this evening guessing he's locked down with a doe in the 200 acres of woods,he saw a doe and a fawn,a smaller buck 6pt. and a real nice tall 8 pointer maybe 125" to 128".My other nephew might sit there tomorrow evening,if he comes out again it would be his biggest buck so we will wait and see. Good Luck

Morning 19 above and snow coming this later afternoon,by tomorrow morning we might have a inch. One day left for our season once the sun rises.hopefully by 4:50pm I will have a doe down.I know if I sit behind the house I could shoot one,but this year the deer seem to be down, which is really strange they had a really easy winter last year.Didn't find any dead deer this summer or fall so EHD is out, everyone has been saying deer numbers are down. There's a doe with twins and a doe with a fawn on the north 80 here at the house the south 80 there's two does with a fawn each, normally on the 160 we will have 15 to 20 does and fawns.3 years ago we had barley under seeded with rye warm fall and good rain the regrowth of barley headed out green of course,it was a deer mecca that fall,One evening on the 160 we,my brothers and some friend all hunting we counted 87 deer before the end of shooting time, that year we harvested 4 bucks and 10 does.Have a good last hunt day of our rifle season, still archery and muzzle loader season.

I'm done 7:26 I let the 7mm Mag bark 244 yards deer down.I'm going to sit with my other nephew this evening and see if the big 10 shows or the real nice 120's eight pointer comes out again this evening.Dylan hasn't shot a buck bigger than a little basket 6 or 8 so 120's will be real easy for him to pull the trigger.Just checked the trail cam 180 yards north of the house, there was two bucks on there another wide short tined 8 and an taller 8 just past his ears a couple of does one really big cow doe.Heading out in an hour with my nephew, check in later with the play along....

There was a change in the plan,my nephew wanted to hunt with his Dad so they went out at 3pm the bucks never showed.A doe and a fawn came out at 380 or so and walked towards the blind,4:50 Dylan shot the doe at 195 yards.Mean while because of the change I decided to sit south of the house to watch deer, got a late start didn't get into the stand till 3:15,at 4:06 a doe and two fawns came out.I watched them feed all evening, they were looking at something to the west,I have some branches blocking the view partly. At 4:37 I could see what they were watching,4 more deer had come out 300 yards west of them and me.They fed a little closer as I watched them. Our deer numbers seemed to be down, but after seeing those 7 on the south 80 and having 5 for sure on the north 80 I figured we could take one out of the population. So at 4:46 I took aim at the 4 furthest west.Tonight I took the old 280 out,I've been shooting the 7mm Mag since I won it four years ago.The 280 didn't let me down,at 263 yards she found her mark,so the story is I did use my landowner tag this evening, now the season is done, later in the week I will cut the deer up and later will will make Potato sausage and more deer bacon and cut steaks etc.Have a great evening everyone, been a great season.

I got my two for the freezer. Locals say the number of small bucks where up but the number of does seen was way down. A few nice bucks harvested locally other wise.

No muzzle load hunting for me, have plenty in the freezer now. Fresh snow showed me the yotes have been chasing deer and ignoring my traps. Spent the afternoon redoing my short line and hope to change my luck soon. Local warden wants to learn to trap and stopped by today to chat. He'll be going along with me sometime this season to see what it's all about and is real excited. Think he'll be a great asset to us trappers.

I'll be hunting.
As nice of a winter we had last year it's odd the numbers seem down. I also noticed not so many twin fawns. I saw one fawn still sporting spots
