We have a well and I very much like the flavor of the water we get out of it. I've noticed that many of my friends and family members, who have city water, now drink bottled water. A few others use expensive filters to remove the nasty chemical taste somewhat, of their city water. Is the city water being intentionally made to taste bad to promote bottled water and water filters?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but are you asking if there is some sort of conspiracy where city governments are in cahoots with beverage and filter companies to make people not drink city water? Like maybe the local water plant manager is getting a kickback from Coca Cola?

For what it's worth, I drink water straight out of the sink. I'm no connoisseur though.

Bottled water has micro plastics in it from the bottles. It gets elevated too if ever heated up, even if sitting in sunlight.

There's close to 60 million Americans, who won't drink their tap water. That's around 20% of our entire population.

It seems like something is going on. You would think a major part of producing tap water would be making sure it's palatable for drinking.

I've had town water that I couldn't stand , there was so much chlorine in it. My well water is very cold and has some minerals in it, and it's good. I would rather have ground water than the plastic bottled water.

Some places the water is bad so bottled water makes sense, but most municipal water is "safe" and theres no reason not to drink it, if you don't like the chlorine taste you can filter or just let it stand for awhile...
But people seem to be convinced bottled water is better, some bottled water is even produced from municipal water, it's kinda a scam, but I don't think it's a conspiracy, it's just that most people are gullible, trusting, or stupid....your choice..lol

Following Hurricane Helene in Asheville NC, we went 52 days without safe drinking water. Some businesses paid $7,000 per week to have a semi truck tanker of pure water connected to their intake.

Boiled water sure makes pretty ice cubes.

Does anyone else get an "ozone" purifier taste in bottled water?

Hocus Pocus, just like so many other things out there, once someone puts it on a public medium and misrepresents the original
information it becomes a panic deal.

I've drank so many different places in my life of access to water, that I could probably quench my thirst out of a mud hole, would it happen, no not unless Jake Paul has a contract with me !!

Think that would be the lowest of conspiracies needed to worry about in this country !

Big stink many years ago when almost all of the "Big Name" imported bottled waters were found to be loaded with Fecal matter and other nasties. That's why they tell you to NOT drink the water when you travel to most country's!

They have to use chemicals to make sewage safe to drink.

No, that's nonsense. Unless your water TDS reading is in the 300-500 ppm range your water is just fine to use and drink but some people are just really anal retentive I guess.
My water here is typically 130's to 160 but usually closer to 130. N.Y. has some decent water quality. Some places are terrible though.

We had a well when we lived in Paducah Ky and it was the best tasting water of anywhere we have lived. In SC the county water was good but it was groundwater also. Here in southwest Va our normal county water supply is from a spring and it tastes terrible. The fridge water filter makes it palatable.
