Cheaper per gallon, but less miles per gallon. Its a wash

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

Pretty sure we had that figured out, just discussing the effects of ethanol at large

my son had filled his truck with E85 before we left for hunting , driving highway I was getting 11.1mpg with an empty trailer and not really any wind to speak about

on the way home same roads , no major elevation changes running 87 octane E10 I was getting 13.1 with around 1200 pounds , the scale at the dump said I dropped around 950 pounds off there and I had coolers and a few other things on for the ride home.

that is 15.3% less fuel economy with an empty trailer vs a packed trailer loaded almost even with the topper

figure the price on E85 has to be at least 35% better to make a difference

so when it is a dollar less a gallon sure but when it isn't forget it is just not worth it

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I just plugged in a couple numbers, based only on "reasonable" assumptions.

According to my flawless mathematics. your flex gas would have to be about $.70 per gallon less regular gas to be a consideration.

Around here, I don't see it happening.

Flex fuel engines are built with valves that are hardened beyond those in non-flex engines. That is the reason why you should not use flex fuels in “regular” engines.

Thanks for the reply’s guys. I figured it would probably be a wash for mileage. Now I’m sure.
That’s why I asked the question here. You guys know EVERYTHING !
Thanks

And no ethanol in my saws either.

Back when they first started pushing bio diesel John Deere came out with the statement use of above 10% ethanol would void the warranty of their equipment. not sure what their policy is now.

Ethanol in small engines is a no-no. In any modern vehicle, it's fine.
