We have hunted 6 different days through the youth and regular seasons. A lot of good times. I don't care what he shoots and he had passed up on several bucks. Last day of the youth season. He said he was going to shoot one if it was decent. 20 minutes left of legal shooting time. Doe and two fawns came by, a smaller buck and then this one at 25 yards. Went down after 70 yards, .270. First bullet from the Roger Lures sale. Several more bullets to go.

Got my buck tonight too. With 10 minutes left. Congrats to him!

The buck I shot. Don't have a picture because my phone camera doesn't work(sorry). The story is that I went and checked trailcam, saw that he came by right there around 5 last night(daylight ends at 5:28 and trailcam says 6 because it didn't get changed at time change) and he was headed for one of my uncles fields with cover crop. Didn't have a blind stand or anything. Set up about 150-175 yards away from where they normally came out. I was laying prone and needed a rest so found me a stick with a y in it. At 5:20 he came out, turned broadside, I shot, ran about 20 yards and fell over in the field. Has 11 points but only mainframe 9 I think. He's what I estimated to be 4.5 and he has a lot of mass. cool
