Pa. Has emissions testing in the city, not in rural counties thank God. We call them city slicker stickers.
The regular inspections are a deal for the customer, for 38 dollars you get your vehicle completely gone over. That would normally cost you at least an hours worth of labor. We don't get inspections here. Some counties have emissions tests though.

I live in one of the test counties. (Sheboygan) All they do is plug into your cars OBD system and if its clear for engine codes your OK. Its only tested every other year. I have older vehicles, 19 years old with 160,000 some miles and a 11 year old model, have been doing this testing for decades and never had an issue. Seems rather unintrusive.

When I lived in NY, over 20 years ago, the inspection laws were ludicrous. Thankfully we always knew of shop owners that would pass the cars for $10 over the going rate..... Haven't been able to do that in quite some time now. It's now computerized plugged into the car and ran through NYS. Half the places don't even do them anymore. Just last year they added having your own printer for the stickers. Each sticker is computer generated for each specific car. No more getting a book of stickers and selling them off. Visual exhaust inspection last I knew. No sniffer yet. That'll be next. The real pain is getting one every year. Just another $$ maker for the state. Most any light on your dash will fail inspection too. Most modern cars you can fix the problem but need a very expensive computer to talk to the car computer to shut the light off after it's fixed or NYS won't pass the inspection when it's plugged into your car and through their computer system.

If people started spraying down their frames when they got them I assume most of these started their current ownership used , but spray it down and it will amaze you how long you can get one to last
just park it on the gravel for a few days after
fog the inside if the doors as well and everywhere you can get the nozzle in.
I mean fluid film is great but at 50 dollars a gallon waste oil is basically free and is a lot better than nothing.

There are only 3 states ...Iowa.. Illinois..,& New Hampshire that have no helmet laws
And no sales Tax..here in NH No helmet law in MN for a licensed adult. As for the vehicle it looks like he had a successful Spring Beaver season. Obviously not a Canadian !

As of this coming Wednesday there are no inspections in Texas Will be interesting to see how that pans out Pretty sure if you get pulled over in the future and you have tires with too little tread you will be ticketed and possibly have to have it towed or go get tires, bet the number of tickets written out produces the revenue from the inspections (BTW you still pay the inspection fee as part of the registration fee as I understand it )

The less the Government has in our lives the better. Pete...you just have to work on that Constitution carry in your state now we have always had open carry , we were so close to defacto constitutional carry when both sides of the Isle jumped on the CCL they made it a sweet enough package to really not make many people want to work any harder at it than get the CCL if you were ever military , ever carried in any other state , or ever took hunters education , you apply online 40 bucks and you will have your license in sub 7 business days. every 5 years the renewal is 22 dollars. they made it so easy there really isn't anyone fighting for constitutional carry at this point. the fine for illegally concealed carrying is 100 bucks , with so many people carrying open and concealed , I don't see it happening any time soon. let me count the number of times I have been asked for my CCL since November 2011 when the law was passed and I got my CCL , still zero and I am almost never not carrying when I leave the house.
