You'll need more to check out to 200. I think the main push for that bullet is elk hunting.

Who makes the shockkwaves?

Thompson Center made them if they are still available they made a shockwave with a yellow tip and a bonded shockwave with a blue tip. But Hornady, Modern Muzzleloading, and Parker also make excellent saboted bullets. Have taken deer with all of them. never could get satisfactory results with powerbelts.

Power Belts shot great in the inline and flintlock but would not drop deer in their tracks. Shot deer, knowing it was a deadly shot and no blood but found deer after circling.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

I had a hard year.

Saw 1 deer during reg. rifle (Bucks only

Saw 39 during Muzzleloader (Bucks only

I had my Optima and a Old Redfield Straight 2 3/4 power scope

One of the 39 deer I saw was a Buck at 150 yds. I didn't shoot because I knew I was good with what I was shooting was good out to 100 . So I passed.
Also the power belts I was shooting I've found out from the past hunts that the shot has to be just right or blood trails were sub par.

Hence the Reason I bought a New Burris 3-9 x 40 and will be testing new bullets before next Year.

I second the Barnes!! Solid copper, retain pretty much 100% weight.

Muzzzys can be fickle, but I’ve had good luck with them in two different muzzy. I’ve also shot federal copper Borloks for my last two elk and my TC likes those and the elk like dieing when shot by them!! ;-). Happy trapping! ScottW
