I know they're considered formal wear in Alaska, lol

Wore them and liked them before they were sent overseas to be made, lot of issues with them. Have they gotten any better? Been tough finding a decent rubber boot that's comfortable and lasts more than 6 months....

I wear them almost exclusively. They don't feel quite the same as the old ones, but they hold up fine. My feet are dry

Still not as good as the old American made ones but much better than first foreign made ones. I’m getting 1-1 1/2 years out of a pair now

They are too tight acrossed the toes. Must have gone with Asian sizing?

I have said for years that Xtratuffs are not bad enough to not wear them, and that is my best compliment for the brand.

Xtra tuffs seem to wear out quickly. Mostly crack and split where sole meets upper. Much better success with Huk and now lacrosse makes some that are well built. The lacrosse for me were a bit tight, I'd order up a half size. With me, a 15 yo, and an 18 yo wearing em we go through boots

I would still put 'em against anything on the market.

And that is exactly why I say that they aren’t bad enough…

I still have a old US pair that I ware. No leaks. What year was it they went over seas? I really like the old Xtra tuff boots. I never had a pair of the new ones.

Well not a resounding endorsement, but I thank you all for your input, I'll probably try out another pair.... any idea on sizing, a little larger than your size?

They make some different tread patterns now, they're trying to ditch their reputation as a deck/dock boot and get into a wider market.

Like Anglo Saxon sizing?
A big dumb animal needs boots that fit…

I was going to order some of the ones that are designed for ice, but they're out of stock unless you have tiny feet, or you're a size 12+

Have you ever run a pair of corked xtratufs?

I find that the newest iteration of the Xtratuff line up fits tighter, width wise, rendering them uncomfortable for my feet. There isn’t a wide sizing, to my knowledge.

And I love my oldest pair, which are caulked. They were purchased in 1998 and are still in solid user condition.

Any kind of seas and the tread pattern sticks to a wet deck better. Insulated more support. Holding up like most, depending on your use.
I have tried the gruindon made too.ok summer, Holding up well but not Insulated but usa
Lacrosse for hunting, knee and hip
Uninsulated extuff for around house for messy work
Nothing seems to be any better buy

I get my xtra tuffs a bit large and use one or two layers of felt insoles

Muck boots are pretty comfortable and tuff. I used to wear the soles off lacrosse boots, it then they got cheap. Not a fan of xtra tuff, to tight.

Do you climb hills or use them otherwise on land? That is where my complaints come from. They used to work very well for the role and now not so much.

I have bought several sets of corked ones over the years. I prefer the Hoffman armor pros for corks, I need the ankle support. But I still use corked Xtra tuffs in muskeg patches
