I hope ao. Then all the people Trumps laid off or fired can get a job and be able to support their families again. Yes get a real job in the private sector instead of clinging to the government teat , hosing the taxpayers.

Huge, bloated departments of this and that right under his nose in D.C., and he's cutting park rangers in Iowa and such. People who don't make a lot of money and do real work. It's ridiculous.

I don’t get it, I’ve worked the private sector all my life and have always had a “plan B”. It was common practice to learn and be as versatile as you could in the event things don’t work out where you are. I carry two employment opportunities around in my wallet for this very reason. Have no idea what it feels like to think this is the last job I’m ever gonna have.

I didn't say or imply it was the end of the world for laid off employees, Hobbie. They will find ways to carry on lust like anybody else. But just because some of these are federal jobs doesn't automatically make them useless. Somebody has to run and maintain parks and such. I suppose they could be made into private sector jobs, which could work. But there is no plan to do so. Not only will you have to pay the worker you will also pay If they choose to use private sector jobs its going to cost more. Not only will you have to pay the worker you will also pay owner of company who, by the way, doesn't work cheap, and office personal, not to mention insurance etc Oh and equipment.

We lost a few guys as well cause they are going at warp speed, as they figure out some that don't need to be let go they are called back both our guys came back. Probably be the same with parks and everything else. But they are cutting in ALL dept's not just some.

The whole scalpel approach has been tried for decades and obviously it doesn't work. I figure like you do Jtrap, they'll figure out who's actually doing the work and will bring them back. I don't know if y'all government trappers had to take "transgender studies" but I figure that guy or gal employed to teach such will be SOL when it comes to federal employment.

Bunch of leeches in DC and kids fresh out of college trying to start their careers are getting axed. He’s taking the low-hanging fruit because it’s easy, but losing these people is going to harm the productivity of land management agencies. I’m headed to the Tetons in June. Really concerned about my trip for this very reason.

Funny I can't think of a single thing the government runs that is cheaper or as efficient and privet sector. post office vs ups, and fed x are first that come to mind.

As to the thread title, I’ve worked in Pharmaceutical manufacturing my entire life. Plant closed down during Obama as the production from our facility in VA was offshored to China and India. Plant opened back during the first year Trump was doing his first term. Barely scrapped by with Biden. Just announced $100s of millions in investments for our site within 2 weeks or Trump being back. I’ve seen it all first hand through all of the Administrations over the past 30 years and I’ll continue to vote Red. And I bet the drug prices didn't go down with the move to China either did they?

Interesting read What comes to my mind is during the bama era the big 3 car companies got huge handouts because they were going broke while moving offshore anybody on here check their plate in the door to see their vehicles origin Does a truck made in Mexico cost half what it costs to build one in the USA Remember when GM shut down the Saturn plant when saturn made a better vehicle then GM did Why did ford close down their ranger production in Kansas How about the payoff they got for EV production I"m amazed how many have forgotten the last 4 years already
