Any pics or design ideas? I’ve heard you can make them without too much difficulty but don’t know where to start.

Ain't nothin' to it. It's just a box you put a cage in and fittings to insert the gas in one end, and lets it flow thru and out the other side till full. Very safe and gentle.

Make it out of wood? How do you attach the fittings to wood without leaks?

I have two plastic totes I bought at Home Depot. One is a 125 liter clear with blue snap handles made by Sterling. I can fit two skunk traps in it. The second is a 190 liter black with a yellow top. I can fit four skunk traps in this one. I drill a hole a few inches from the bottom the size of tubing coming from my CO2 regulator.

Makes sense, thanks. Do you buy the regulator and hose from WCS? Or do welding supply places have that stuff

I have a wcs regulator but I use a regulator from a welding store. Got the hose at a beer brewing place. My CO2 tank came from a welding store as well. I get it refilled/traded in at a brewing store. Costs about the same but is closer to

I use a 10 pound tank. I put it in a milk crate surrounded by rolled up towels. I chain it to a tie down in my truck bed. I can euthanize about 15-17 animals with it.

I had a boat builder make me an aluminum one, it’s a little bigger than a coon size trap, has a hinge on the lid , air fitting to take hose on and off. Works great!

I made my first one out of plywood. Only lasted a year or two. I went to a fabricator and had one made out of SS sheet metal. I wanted a hinge at first but it was too squeaky, so he took it off and made a lid with two handles and a plexiglass window on top. Big enough for a 36"L cage.

Thanks, does it have to be air tight? I’ve heard you do not want it airtight so the air can escape as the co2 flows in

You want it to vent at the top as C02 is heavier than air. The chamber fills from the bottom up and it does not take much of an opening to vent the air.

A friend of mine used a garbage 'toter' bin.
Used it vertically.

Just put the cage trap in upright. Then dropped a hose to the bottom that supplied the CO²

It works.

As has been said, the oxygen needs to escape. I drill my hole about three inches from the bottom and figure that the chamber will not be air type so the O2 will go out the top.
