Has anyone ever mounted a bench top tail stripper to their skinning machine?

Have mine mounted on the pole that holds the winch. That way i just raise or lower to the right height and pull the tail. Once I pull the tail, then hook up to the shinning machine.

Never had a skinning machine, but anything that saves time is worth a shot. I have used a machine when helping a local fur buyer and having a stripper in hand seems more efficient. Perhaps, I'm missing something? It's been awhile. Although, my body seems to remember the thousands of coons it's handled.... smile

I put a couple dozen of them on the various skinning machines I used to manufacture. Never cared for them myself, but some guys seem to like them.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see any advantage. I just stop the hoist at whatever height I want it and grab the hand stripper off the shelf.

Does anybody besides me just strip the tail with their fingers?

That's because you're an animal, Dave.

I didn’t think that was possible! Of course I can’t set a 110 with my hands so I’m not surprised I’m generally lacking in physical strength

Yep, mounted on on a Speed Skinning gate from NO-BS Lures. The best setup I've ever used.

I used to do that a lot on all animals. I have also used all sorts of things before I figured out I could do it by hand.
