Beautiful work!!! It takes a lot of time to capture the unique events in nature. Thank Yu very much Sir.

Not to take away from your beautiful pictures here are a couple also. These were sent to me from a friend that went to North Dakota and got these.

Great photos!
When I was elk hunting in Colorado, we used to see them. One rancher where we hunted said they weren't much for eating, though.

Not as loud as you would think given their size as compared to other grouse and the open county they are in. I would say sound carries maybe 1/4 mile or a little more.

Nice pictures Tray and Snowy. Sage grouse in ND are having a hard time. I blame it on habitat loss. They need sage brush to live.

Same in MT and SD, loss of sagebrush, invasive grasses outcompeting native forage and west nile has all been taking its toll.

I have seen them. Never shot one. Awesome birds.

It seems having cattle and sheep on their historic nesting grounds is of course tough but a bigger issue is the avian predators. Everything from magpies, crows, ravens, owls, hawks, eagles etc have learned to decimate the hatchlings. Wetter heavy grass/sage growing spring seasons are needed for cover. Guy I know in Montana has the perfect proving ground for that. His numbers are rising. Huns as well.
