One rancher where we hunted said they weren't much for eating, though. DOGE is not coming after your money. They are coming after the people who are stealing your money.

Tray OP "Wilson Jr." T Joined: Feb 2010 SD	Not as loud as you would think given their size as compared to other grouse and the open county they are in. I would say sound carries maybe 1/4 mile or a little more.

It seems having cattle and sheep on their historic nesting grounds is of course tough but a bigger issue is the avian predators. Everything from magpies, crows, ravens, owls, hawks, eagles etc have learned to decimate the hatchlings. Wetter heavy grass/sage growing spring seasons are needed for cover. Guy I know in Montana has the perfect proving ground for that. His numbers are rising. Huns as well.
