Let's start right off by agreeing that wine when talked about in either the New or Old Testament was alcoholic. Grapes are harvested in late summer or early fall and juice is made, the juice is then fermented, it was the only method of preservation available to them. At the last supper, during the spring of the year wine was consumed; not grape juice.
Furthermore, when Jesus turned water into wine (his first miracle), it is obvious by the conversation that was taking place between Jesus, Mary and the head servant that the beverage being consumed was alcoholic and capable of intoxication. It was not watered-down wine.

That being said, the Bible condemns drunkenness.

I find it curious that some fundamentalist preachers will insist that the wine consumed in the bible was just grape juice or greatly diluted wine. Guys who preach like this, to support a bias, lose credibility in everything else they preach.

other than water into wine ever mention of drinking ot drunk In the Bible Is negative I can think of. Paul told Timothy to "drink a little wine for your stomach". In Ecclesiastes it says, "wine gladdens the heart". Proverbs says to "give wine to those in bitter distress". The Bible can be a little tricky when we try to use it to justify a particular position we might want to take.

Thanks I was only able to remember things like the daughters geting dad drunk and laying with him and other passages where drunken or with much wine had negative effects That said glutathione us a sin and to much of anything can be bad for you.

Bible verses seem to vary when the subject of drinking wine is discussed. But after seeing all the pain and problems alcohol has caused in the world, I’d find it hard to believe God is a fan of it. Our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, dishonoring it with alcohol, drugs, obesity (no, it's not your thyroid) or any other such things is not looked upon by God with favour.

As my dad said, there is no Thou shalt not drink liquor in the Bible. The Bible does say to avoid drunkenness. The Bible does say that our bodies are a temple to Christ and we should treat them as such. So the why drink alcohol and risk getting drunk? Overall, I’d say the testimony of Scripture says to avoid ALL intoxicating drinks.

Just my point of view…
A Bloody Mary is really good any time of day......one doesn't accidentally get drunk so having a drink to enjoy one isn't risky. Having more than one should, is done on purpose.

Alcohol can be a slippery slope for sure. One leads to more. However, even communion includes wine as Christ’s blood.

The account of Noah's post-flood life includes a notable incident involving his consumption of wine, as described in Genesis 9:20–21:
“Noah began to be a man of the soil, and he planted a vineyard. He drank of the wine and became drunk and lay uncovered in his tent.”

Preface; I am only saying this to Believers, I can not make any judgement on others. If you wouldn't sit down and pound down four or five Cokes, but you try to justify pounding down four or five beers, you had better be looking at your motives.
