I love the taste of beer. My pap gave it to me in a jelly jar.
I can’t abide the taste of whiskey, or rum. Very rarely I’d like a gin and tonic. Wine can be gross and a strong dry red just gives me heartburn. I can have all these other things in the house and not touch them. But beer is a delight and I can’t resist it. Does that make me an alcoholic? Or just a beer lover??
Just musing…..

Walmart women are blessed with children thanks to alcohol. smile

Kind of related;

"Alcohol can act as a natural painkiller, as studies have shown that it can reduce pain sensitivity and provide some pain relief."

Used it for this purpose after a long day busting trail many times. Helps you sleep.

Well that changes everything. I 100% prefer the taste of beer to ANY diet soda.

No, he spit it out when he tasted it. We don't know exactly why he spit it out. Could have been of three things. (1) it was wine, Nazarenes don't drink wine, (2) It was mixed with "gall" and was bitter (a cruel joke), or (3) the "gall" was an opiod of sorts meant to kill pain, which he would have refused on principle.

What is the purpose of alcohol in this context?

It makes me better looking, funnier and bullet proof. I am not seeing a downside here.

I have nothing clever to put here.

SO true. I was waiting for a checkup at women doctor and I see these “females” sitting there in flip flops and tank tops with their greasy hair in a bun and I’m like who is touching these women to get them pregnant?

Public toilet seats got them pregnant. Grandma told me all about it when I was a kid. If you eat a white watermelon seed, that will get you pregnant too.

Today alcohol has no "safety" issue it is saving you from. Water and other drinks that line the grocery store shelves are safe to drink.

This leaves me with only one conclusion as to why people drink alcohol in this day and time. I know of no beer wine or liquor I would drink over a coke, tea or apple juice.

And physical health speaking, alcohol is one of the worst things you can put in your body.

Again, all of these points of view are sans religion of any kind.

Cold beer Is hard to beat especially after a day working in the sun during summer. Now Sam Adam's October fest is about the absolutely best breakfast beer paring if your having bacon and eggs or sausage..

Now I seldom drink much beer even when I would maybe a case a year. But I will argue with you that coke is worst for your body than a beer.

It's hard to beat a couple of ice cold beers in a steaming hot shower of an evening.

Love my shower beers.

The church here in town sells beer out of the priest's garage during the catlick fall festival, that's good enough for me

I very rarely drink beer, but beer is the only cold, carbonated, flavored, nonsweet beverage that I know of. Every once in a while on a hot summer day, that's just the recipe for a relaxing beverage. Iced tea is a good cold flavored beverage that's not sweet, but it's not carbonated.

I would rather funnel Mickey's Big mouths than drink unsweet tea. That stuff is nasty.
