Would Jesus recommend drinken?

I think it is as you say, a logical conclusion that Jesus did drink wine. Wine was probably safer to drink than the water back then. The alcohol should have killed most of the bacteria in the wine.

Jesus probably never drank wine, not because he was opposed to it, but because he was a Nazarene. Nazarenes did not cut their hair either.

Is drinkin part of the sanctification process?

There are millions of people who drink that probably never have read the Bible.

As a preacher since I was 15, I have counseled hundreds of people... I have never had to counsel someone for beating their wife, spending grocery money, raping their kids, commiting murder, etcetera, because they chose not to drink. The counseling was always for those who chose to drink.

1) Genesis 9:20-26 – Noah became drunk; the result was immorality and family trouble.

2) Genesis 19:30-38 – Lot was so drunk he did not know what he was doing; this led to immorality

3) Leviticus 10:9-11 – God commanded priests not to drink so that they could tell the difference between the holy and the unholy.

4) Numbers 6:3 – The Nazarites were told to eat or drink nothing from the grape vine.

5) Deuteronomy 21:20 – A drunken son was stubborn and rebellious.

6) Deuteronomy 29:5-6 – God gave no grape juice to Israel nor did they have intoxicating drink in the wilderness.

7) Deuteronomy 32:33 – Intoxicating wine is like the poison of serpents, the cruel venom of asps.

8) Judges 13:4, 7, 14 – Samson was to be a Nazarite for life. His mother was told not to drink wine or strong drink.

9) 1 Samuel 1:14-15 – Accused, Hannah said she drank no wine.

10) 1 Samuel 25:32-38 – Nabal died after a drunken spree.

11) 2 Samuel 11:13 – By getting Uriah drunk, David hoped to cover his sin.

12) 2 Samuel 13:28-29 – Amnon was drunk when he was killed.

13) 1 Kings 16:8-10 – The king was drinking himself into drunkenness when he was assassinated

Didn't seem to be much Scriptures being mentioned about the topic, other than one or two well known ones for medical purposes, so here's a few. Scriptures are God’s thoughts on the matter. Much more negative thoughts than good ones. I grew up by a redneck bar in podunkville, FL. Never saw any good come of it.

Let's consider wine/beer/liquor from a non religious point of view. No Bible. No Jesus.

What is the purpose of alcohol in this context?

I have drank enough to float a small naval vessel.

I drank it for one purpose. Why do you drink cold beer?

I would 100X rather have a glass of tea than a beer.

I love the taste of beer. My pap gave it to me in a jelly jar.
I can’t abide the taste of whiskey, or rum. Very rarely I’d like a gin and tonic. Wine can be gross and a strong dry red just gives me heartburn. I can have all these other things in the house and not touch them. But beer is a delight and I can’t resist it. Does that make me an alcoholic? Or just a beer lover??

Walmart women are blessed with children thanks to alcohol.

Kind of related;

Used it for this purpose after a long day busting trail many times. Helps you sleep.

Civilizations saved grape juice and made mead with fermentation as the preservative. With all the diseases back then alcohol was safer because the alcohol kept the wine and mead safer to drink than water. Again from a non religious context.

Today alcohol has no "safety" issue it is saving you from. Water and other drinks that line the grocery store shelves are safe to drink.

This leaves me with only one conclusion as to why people drink alcohol in this day and time. I know of no beer wine or liquor I would drink over a coke, tea or apple juice.

And physical health speaking, alcohol is one of the worst things you can put in your body.

Again, all of these points of view are sans religion of any kind.
