My Son in Law just bought a new one with in the last week. He spends a lot of time on the road, flying and renting cars. He said he liked the Mazda CX-5 more then anything else he got for a rental. That was how he made his choice.

My son and I just bought 2 new 2025 Mazda's a few weeks ago, He bought a 3 and I bought a CX-5. We have never owned Mazda products before but this time around it was a no brainer. Very proven naturally aspirated 2.4 engine and equally proven 6 speed automatic. Both very nice vehicles.

I own a cx-5 awd grand touring edition. I’ve owned it for 3 years now.
We decided on this after driving both Honda CRV and Toyota Rav4.

This car drives so much nicer than either of the other 2 that it wasn’t even a hard decision.
We love it.

Make sure to get the leather seats with heating and cooling, electronics packages, heads-up display.
All of this makes this car stellar in our mind.

I bought a new CX-5 Carbon Edition a little over a year ago. It's a decent little rig. Not great gas mileage but it gets around well in the snow and handles nicely on the road. Road noise inside the cabin is more than I like, but for the money it would be tough to find a more reliable rig, with many options standard vs paying a pile extra for them. I have @ 45k on it now, just replaced the tires a few weeks ago. They did replace the thermostat (through a recall). Otherwise, just oil changes.

Wish I could find another used one for a good price.

It has good reviews and is considered safe too. I bought one for my kid. Its hauling him around just fine.

Wife drives a 2019 CX5 Signature edition we bought new in Feb 2020. Like Just Learning said, it is a much more agile vehicle than the new Rav 4's. Good power, good gas mileage. Not much good in snow with highway tires but I can't comment on how it would do with something more aggressive.

I don't care for all the electronic driving aids such as automatic braking, distance managing when on cruise, lane change warnings, etc, but she has gotten used to it.

Oil change is easy except that ramps are needed. A plastic panel goes off and on easily to access the drain plug and filter (filter located right beside the plug).

My wife's car is a 2018 CX-5. Been cross country a couple of times with it and it's been a great car. No problems at all. Just done oil changes and services at suggested intervals.

My wife's Mazda CX5 was totaled on Tuesday. Kid hit her from behind in a construction zone on the interstate, pushed her into a truck that had stopped for a car ahead of them. Nobody required an ambulance or anything. Thank God. But she's definitely sore and bruised.

Almost 100 percent positive it'll be totaled. If so , we'll be buying another. Excellent car. Drove it Virginia and back , sometimes snowy or icy roads, and all over the mid-Atlantic area. Zero issues.

Also on a side note, Mazda has teamed up with Toyota and Subaru, on developing a more fuel efficient gas combustion engine to help consumers avoid needing a hybrid or electric engine. That's a pretty solid partnership. As far as I'm concerned my kids 50 IMP/MPG on his Mazda3 far outweighs any hybrid or electric nonsense.

Aaron. Sorry to hear your wife was in an accident. We just signed on new CX5. Turbo signature. It drives just as nice at 100mph as it does at 55.
