I though they already appointed him. I didn't know they were going to have an election. You have to wonder if it was rigged to prove they appoint the right guy. He is not even a Canadian is he?

We actually have very secure federal elections,,,paper ballots, hand counted, election security
Eastern Canadains are just sheep Well when you consider eastern Canada is just the other side of the line from our most infested states it's no wonder. Maybe there's something in the water?

Well, somewhere in the bush, Boco is probably smiling. As I remember before Boco left a couple months ago, he stated he was a Poilevre man.

I'm afraid it won't be too many years and we'll be in the same boat as Canada and that is comp!she rule by libs.
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

Well, somewhere in the bush, Boco is probably smiling. You don’t know Robert from a hole in the ground. Trump got what he wanted, Carney. We’ll see how the west reacts now, pretty blue out here. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/04/full-56418-256366-img_0951.png)

This is bad for decent Canadians, who want to stay Canadian.
Alberta will likely try succeed from Canada. Canada will likely fight the succession, which will greatly improve the US's chance at picking up Alberta. That would likely lead to other more rural parts of Canada wanting to join the US too. I think it very likely President Trump thought it would likely play out that way when he made trudeau look like a fool, razzing him about Canada becoming our 51st state.
Keith I’d rather Alberta stay their own independent state. They are smart enough and have resources enough to tell the rest of Canada and the US to back off. If Saskatchewan joined them all the better. Osky

It ain't about what Trump wanted. It's about what Canadians should have wanted after all that time under Trudeau.
I read that the conservatives had a 25% lead several months ago. The news media in both Countries and apparently Shakeyjake are blaming the conservative loss on the tariff war and the threats of annexation.
I blame it on voters too stupid to know what's in their best interest.
Eh...wot?

I blame it on voters too stupid to know what's in their best interest. In both countries the media has well figured out the turning point of when to scare a certain party into action and when to claim that party is on a roll and it’s great now to be them. Human nature and the want to be on the winning side prevails over constructive thinking. An outside opinion only, an election called by the liberal guy, chosen by the liberal guy on the way out seems odd. An election absolutely needed and our “election season” is a bit much but this election up there didn’t seem to leave much time for the common Canadians to vet the candidates? Did these candidates canvas the country much, speeches, rally’s particularly west of Ontario? I’m an outsider of course but I try to understand the workings in the north but the conservative candidate did not seem much different than the other. Did the abruptness of the election not give him time to distance himself or make better inroads with the masses? Last June I believe it took only one debate to show the weakness of a candidate and change everything. Were there enough chances for the Canadians to see these two go head to head? Osky

The laws in Canada about succession say that they would need a “clear majority” so more than 75% to succeed. That seems very unlikely given that the large population centres don’t want to leave Canada. I’m disgusted with the results of the election. More of the same (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) we’ve had for a decade. In America we have the electoral college to try and even the playing field representation wise, does Canada have similar or will those of you west of central Ontario always be ruled by the eastern liberals? Ours isn’t perfect but certainly helps. Osky
