Pafoxman OP trapper P Joined: Jul 2010 SE Pennsylvania	According to the White House our government has given up on brokering a deal that would grant a cease fire in the Ukraine war. Anyone surprised....? However, we did give more weapons to Ukraine recently.

We are living in a world where the intelligent must be quiet so that the no common sense people won't be offended.

EdP trapper E Joined: Mar 2012 meadowview, Virginia	Trump deserves some criticism for his inflated promise to stop the war almost immediately after taking office, and he is of course the ONLY politician to ever overpromise (Remember "you can keep your doctor, etc"). However, let's not forget that Russia invaded and took Crimea under Obama, and that Biden said a "small incursion" would not be too bad as Russia amassed troops on the Ukraine border. Allowing these incursions and territorial grabs were in violation of the security assurances the US and UK and Russia made to Ukraine in exchange for Ukraine giving up its nuclear weapons (Budapest Memorandum). Trump over promised and now has to make Russia pay more than they can stand to continue the war. In other words, this is another mess Dem administrations allowed to happen that Trump has to fix. Trump has started that process but it isn't going to be fast because Putin has a lot at stake, perhaps his life even.

Putin already said multiple times he's not done in Ukraine till his goals are met... So the only thing left to do is inflict real pain on Russia, harsh sanctions and letting the Ukrainians loose with the good stuff....otherwise this will never end well...It's a darn shame but negotiations aren't going to work.
