How many fishing poles/combos have you fished in the last 12 months , maybe 13 months , last season or this season so far.

how many have line on them you would trust to tie on a 7 dollar lure and be ready to walk out the door and go fishing. if a buddy called you right now with his boat hitched up and said want to go fishing I got the bait and boat , grab your rods. lets go be there in 10 minutes.

I was thinking about the dozens of rods , and got curios how many are keeping up dozens of rods ready to fish as they set?

I have 4 ready to roll ,all 4 have seen action in the last 12 months
all 4 have fresh line this year

keeping fresh line on stuff can get expensive depending on what you use

edit
total number approximation is fine "T" ,Seen action "SA" in the last year , number ready to fish "RTF" at a moments notice , number with fresh line FL.

T 7-8
SA 5
RTF 4
FL 4

All the fishing poles here have seen action within the last month, and a couple of them pulled some little channel cats in last weekend, and will be out again this weekend.

7 fly rods will have new leaders on them by weekend.

Should have already been trolling...but Graduations and funerals got in the way this early month of may

you had said you have a handful of users and not a lot of extras in the other thread if I recall

Maybe I should add total and total ready to go

I've used 4/4 of mine, but I'm thinking of setting up a fly rod as well

In Mo you can legally fish up to 50 rods in the Mississippi River, with 3 hooks per, that makes 17 if one only has 2 hooks. I do that regularly! Can and have hit the river on a moments notice.

In the last year all of my light tackle and most of my heavy spinning rods. Didn’t make it offshore here in NC on our boat at all last year.

Right now, I have 2 trolling rod/reel w/line counters, 2 jiggin' rods, 2 rods w/slip bobber rigs and 2 crappie rods ready to roll. When bass fishing season rolls in, I will add a couple more. Can only use one rod at a time here, but my lovely wife has to be well armed as well. wink

do they count yo-yos an limb lines and such as rods?

we have a bank pole option in certain specific waters but it is a separate tag
any game fishing is 3 lines per person
a single lure can have more hooks but only 3 lines if you run something like a high low rig with 2 hooks in different depths I believe that counts as 2 lines

are you also 50 hooks on a trot line?

do jugs count as poles ?

we can't do jugs

there is some allowance for trot lines on the Mississippi but I think also a a separate tag

Except for burbot and herring everything in Alaska is just one pole with up to two hooks. Imagine using 50 lines.

10 rods and 7 have been used In the last year. I put fresh line on 3 this spring but really all ten I’ll fish right now with. I’ve had some 8 pound braid on some of the rods for 8-10 years and I have no issues with it except the color is faded off

hahahahahahahahahaha Yep, I'm THAT guy. Used rod combos in last 12 months would be around 60-80. Add in ice fishing, specialty rods for specific use/place, and generic rods I have for others to use and I'm about 125-130. Sounds extreme, but looking at my background its not that many. I guided/outfitted for over 30 years both open water and icefishing, fished pro for years, and run a great lakes rig. I have equipment in few different states so I seldom travel with anything.

Only two used this year so far outta 20 or so.

But I have spare vehicles, guns, tools and whatnot that rarely get used. I don't throw things away when I buy newer improved, I just set the old in a corner which is why I have so many.
Rods and Reels have improved greatly over my lifetime.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

no judgement for having spares , I have 5 vehicles although I am paring down some my wife hardly drives any more and fairly soon won't be driving at all.

I have a daughter driving one of those 5 so that leaves 4 parked in my drive

I have a drawer full of knives and use around 5 on a regular basis

This was to get an understanding of what everyone is actually fishing and not all the past combos that sit in reserve

It does make me now think another question , how often does everyone replace their line. and what type of line.

We go by the number of hooks, 33 state wide, and 50 on the Mississippi, to bring it into equality with Illinois laws.

Each pole is limited to 3 hooks statewide, 50 on the Mississippi, including bank poles

Trotlines: 33 hooks, must be staged at least 2 ft apart

Jugs are a very popular "Lazy" way to fish, unattended jugs must be anchored

In Mo, trotlines are covered by the basic fishing permit.
