Been seeing some places around that no longer take cash. Was visiting with my buddy over the weekend, and he thinks they are gonna do away with cash all together. He's a bit of freelance welder type and only accepts cash as payment. He doesn't have a bank account or credit card.
Way things are going with these banking apps like Venmo, Zelle, Cashapp, etc. I'm thinking he may be right.
What I can't really comprehend is how things would work if one can't exchange goods or services with cash? Will we be forced to go digital in order to do business? Curious what T-man's thoughts were....

The Mark of the Beast
16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Keith IMHO, the mark is that cell phone in our right hand. Everything will eventually go through it. Occasionally we stick it up to our forehead. We are doing it to ourselves.

Well it just cost too much to make coins and/or print money. Its pennies gone today, dollars gone tomorrow. That money is nasty, it has germs on it. You could die from touching it ! Store employees can stick cash in their pockets costing the store owner and they are passing that on to you. It will be a lot better to use scrip at the company store, support your employer. Just think, they can practically shut the drug trade down, reducing the need for tariffs and border patrol. Ever see a dope dealer standing on the corner with a credit card machine? We could save printing ink by just printing bills on one side. Could even bring the gray-backs back into circulation but those gray-backs aren't backed by anything like our fiat green-backs are ! Don't worry about getting caught with a sock full of a bunch of worthless dollars. They will still have value in the next toilet paper shortage. But you might want to be sure to change your big bills into smaller ones to stretch them farther. Now that will not be as important once you are on a strict ration of rice, your bathroom trips will be less. Not sure the bills will be septic tank safe, so make the necessary adjustments there. So what is the chance of your electronic money getting hacked? Slim to none, your government will reimburse you, after all they will have the records of all that and they care about you, pawns matter too !
This is just in jest, cheer up and have a laugh while you are still allowed to.

That's a good possibility. In several countries, such as China, nearly everything is paid by holding your cellphone in your hand. Keith

You can always pay a debt using cash, since it's illegal for a company not to accept it. This only applies to debts though, so anything you have to pay for in advance is fair game for cashless. I use to think this also, but found its not true. There's no federal law requiring a business to accept cash as payment, and only a dozen states have a law requiring it. Alaska isn't one of the dozen requiring it.
There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

The technology is already in place with the credit/debit card machines. When you swipe your card to buy necessities, the machine could prompt you to answer whether you've had the vaccine or whether your guns are registered. You could select "Yes", then be prompted for a gov-issued verification number.....
