Tim S didn't build the MB 750....Tim C did.
I may be wrong, but I doubt it ! I think Tim Sawatzky was the originator.

You will get someone who prefers every beaver trap made and many who prefer beaver traps that are no longer made. I have and have used them all, all of them currently made and many no longer made. Except bridger Brauns - I really need to try them.
My advice is to buy one or two of every currently available full size beaver trap (and definitely get some old original CDR’s if you can find them) and try them all in your conditions and with your trapping style. They all hold beaver, I have not had trouble with that on any of them. What makes the decision for me is how easy they are to use - which is more than just how easy they are to set - it includes how they can be placed, how big the pan is, do you target front or rear foot, and other factors. I do have a favorite, but they are my favorite because of features and suitability for my style and conditions. I like a small pan because I target back feet. I like a pan that flips up nearly vertical so I can safely get it positioned and bedded then click it down and walk away, so PIT pans or modified dogless pans. For me, the perfect trap isn’t sold from the factory - and that is not to say the trap makers dont get it right - they all make good traps that are a mixture of strengths and tradeoffs - as they must be when making production traps. By trying a few of each, you will learn what features work best for you. After decades of doing ADC beaver work, I have sorted out the features I want in a foothold, and I modify my traps to fit what I want. But if you want the best factory foothold for YOU, you will have to try them all and see what works for you. Perhaps 20 years down the road you will end up like me with a bunch of metal fab tools, modifying traps to suit your style.

Regular jaw, 2 coil, No BS Beaver Xtremes for me. I started off with their 4 coils and they are dang near impossible to set by hand.
Have had no issues at all going to their 2 coil. Plenty strong and I can set them on a muddy bank without needing to carry around setters
Gotta live up to the nickname...

2poor is correct on the 750 story. That's news to me. I stand corrected. From my limited knowledge, I've known that the TS85 was Tim Sawatsky's creation.....but didn't know the MB750 was also.

I’ve see a few folks mention the sharp edges on the jaw. Do you think it’s a problem? The thing I really like about the No BS traps is the coating, so if I file off the edge then I’m getting rid of the coating. I like a sharply square edge, like on the CDR 7.5 , it holds nicely.
