I hate when that happens too!!!!!

Lots of things cause a "flier".

Narrowing down which thing caused it is the problem. I've been playing with neck tension. Next I'm going to start marking the case that gives me a flier.

That's the trick Wolf, keeping your groups under an inch counting the flier.

And trust me, not all days come up aces!

Ive got guns that shoots consistent sub 1/2 moa and guns that will consistently throw flyers. I think more often the gun or load causing them especially when your other shots are consistently tighter. There's sometimes humility in realizing ur gun or load is throwing flyers. Sometimes you can be loaded on a narrow node or on the edge of a node and have consistently tight groups then turn around and your next group can fall apart. But that's my experience and opion. Im pretty much a own ur whole group kind of guy and if u want a better group fix the problem instead of dropping shots to get a better groups.

One thing I see too for me and the boys is if we are supporting the gun front and rear and we are pulling shoots it tends to string them left and right more so than vertically. But I wouldn't argue that one to the grave at this point in my experience.

Had a Tikka in 270 that would always throw the 3rd shot. First 2 shots under an moa if you were a good shot then it would throw the 3rd an 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 away. Very very consistent with both me and the boys shooting it. Did some work on the stalk and got to be a consistent sub moa gun.

Woke up to perfect conditions so went to shoot a group with my Krieger barreled 300 Weatherby.
4 shots @500yds a quarter would cover and then it happened.
