I like it a lot ! That being said it can have a tendency to "float " if you leave your charge on the scale for more then say 10min but re calibrating takes less then a minute not going to lie don't know how much faster it is vs a powder dispenser. Timed it last night and takes right at 20sec to drop and trickle 24.2 GR of ramshot exterminator. Think it was 25min for 45 rounds total . Seen guys who can throw 100 chargers in 2min flat and shoot , shoot big holes and have S-D in the single digits, but it's always been a big failure when I try .... Don't have the rhythm I guess .

Really need to get one of those older ohus beam scales to have when this thing finally kicks the bucket lol laugh

I use a scoop now onto the beam and then trickle it up to level then I set it on a distal scale to double check the weight.

If that takes almost a second per grain, it's be way to slow when most my loads are 80-100 grain.

I guess I could scoop onto it and let it tickle it up, then set it on my beam for the confirm check.

Thanks.

There comes a point liberalism has gone too far, we're past that point.

I have an AR. Its fun to shoot. When I load ammo it takes awhile. Use a beam and manual trickler. Takes awhile but works ok. I have a weakness for wood stocked bolt actions.

Welp Dad brought his out . DPMS .308 with a 3-9 HAWKE . Really bare bones which admittedly it's more my old man style he always gives me "that" look at my stuff....but always seems really happy after shooting mine crazy grin but his hunting style is ,walk around in a big look till something is dumb enough to stand still so more bare bones and light weight works better from him vs my more ..."gamed out " set up. ... But he was talking a little smack about how he spent $1300 on a QUALITY DPMS so whistle
Anyhow

Also not gonna lie....this is a nice little 3-9 cool
O and finally got him to come to the 21st century and put on some dang hearing protection
cool got him a pair of electric walkers muffs that he cussed and nodded about ...but now he wears them constantly grin was a bit of a fight to get him to use any type of support to zero thought badgered him into using a front bag but the whole rear bag thing was a no go
[Linked Image]
And well
[Linked Image]
Honestly I'm just gonna chalk this up to him buying the cheapest SP he could find
[Linked Image]
But hay he was tickled pink he could constantly slap my Gopher target around at one hundred..... Can't say the same about the 4" gong but 1 outta four made him smile.... Told him no head shots till I work him up a load though.
[Linked Image]

I (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) it a few times and it's definitely usable...but yeah I see what alot of them AR guys are talking about not a big fan of shooting it , call me a wuss but I'll stick to my man bun sub 30 cals
laugh just really really snappy

Well after all that I brought mine out loaded it up and told him to just point at what he wants gone yeah ended up going 5 for 5 laugh was spotting him and he was just dropping bullets on the same impacts on the steel for giggles .

.and was smiling like a 5yr old till he remembered I was there and went back to acting like he don't like it . Just said "yeah it's really smooth " then proceeded to go around The moon asking whats something he could get like a 6.5 creedmore.....that's not a 6.5 creedmore ( he's always been a dyed in the whole traditional caliber guy .223, .308, 12ga .22lr though.....he's like the low recoil small frame stuff more and more especially since I built him that 6mm ARC )

He said he kinda wants me to make him one up in .243 now but he's still not sure about that "6.5 cre whatever"
grin I do end up digging around and finding a mag pull stock for him though...$1300 bones and they still just give you a milspec M4 stock sick

Hippie,
I think a good beam scale is probably more accurate than most of the digitals. But I have the RCBS powder dispenser and scale. It dumps the powder pretty fast until it gets to the last couple grains, then trickles that in. So it doesn't take much longer to dispense 80 grains of powder for my STW than it does for my 218 Bee. All the time is in trickling those last couple grains.

I've been wanting to get/build an AR10, had thought about a 260 since i have a bolt gun in that caliber (Wolfie, if your dad really wants something similar to a 6.5 Creed that isn't a Creed, can't get much closer than the 260, basically ballistic twins) but would probably end up going with a 308. PSA you can buy one ready to go cheaper than you can build one and they have a real good rep. I have shot a friends DPMS some, very heavy, big bull barrel on it, less recoil in a 308 and then in some 223 I have shot, sub MOA, usually around 3/4 MOA with the cheapest bulk ammo he could buy. But I've put a couple hundred rounds through it on a couple of occasions, and it jams about every third or fourth round. I would have to have one that would feed reliably, and from what I've heard a lot of AR10s are a bit finicky that way.
