Fun storry:
In high school my parents had an equipment rental business. We had about a 5/8" bolt break on a trencher. Dad assigned me the task of getting it out. As I recall, it was a bolt that screwed into the casting, broke off about 3/8 of an inch below the surface of the casting. Since the bolt broke from load instead of twisting off, there was a good chance it wasn't siezed terribly, but it was still stuck. And it broke off slanted, so I couldn't get a drill bit to stay still in place to drill a hole for the extractor.

So I got the thinnest welding rod I could find and welded a little bolt onto the broken bolt. Putting heat straight onto the bolt helped loosen it too. Then I wiggled it it back and forth with very light pressure and it gradually wiggled a little more each way.

I waited until I was done to admit to Dad what I'd done. I asked "do you trust me?" and he gave me a strange look. Then I handed him the broken bolt stub with a the little bolt welded to it.

How this resembles me at times. smoking price in ammo I have been know to load up even if I don't own anything to shoot it. I may get something in the future so.. or I can pass it along to friends.
