This thread has truly opened my eyes to the selfishness of some men. Men that have taken vows and promised their bride they would be there for her. Now, some saying divorce is the best thing done in their life. Many profess to be be Christ followers but in trials and tribulations spout out to get the best lawyer they can afford and are driven on material possessions. It truly saddens me to know that so many men have not loved their brides even in the dark times and learned to fight on their knees and allow the Lord to lead them to love their brides even when they don't deserve it. See, I don't deserve it. I am a dirty rotten lying adulterer at heart but only by the blood of Jesus have I been forgiven and learned to love. Love without limitations. Love without being hung up on material possessions and thinking I am owed this or that. I can't control my next heartbeat - but I can try and exert self control and show love to even those that offend, ridicule, and dismiss. Most of you are right - I have no idea what you are going through. But I do know - there is no justification that will ever make it right. Jesus even spoke on it due to the hardening of your hearts. I pray some of you men allow God to soften your hearts so you can allow the love of Christ to overwhelm you and you have the ability to love others unconditionally. Hmmmm........ever hear "Love Your Neighbor ?" That is terrible advice. I tried that once and her husband came home early. I am almost certain he would have killed me if he could have caught me.
I have nothing clever to put here.

One man one woman
What about the kings With 100 0r more concubines
Abraham gave Sarah a child from Abraham and blessed their Future (Israelis) After he messed around and made His wife s handmaiden pregnant and Abraham sent the Handmaisen and Son away (Palestinians King Solomon himself had hundreds of wives to strengthen bonds with foreign lands. After he died, it all fell apart. There's plural marriage in the bible, but generally isn't depicted as working out well. Plural marriage in our country is illegal, so that's probably not an option for you, anyway. Sarah is the one who offered up her handmaiden since she thought she was barren. Whether that makes it okay, I'm not qualified to say, but I don't believe it was done out of a place of selfishness.

TreedaBlackdog is the Pharisee trying to pretend he is the tax collector in this parable. "Luke 18:9-14 New International Version The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector 9 To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable: 10 “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: ‘God, I thank you that I am not like other people—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.’ 13 “But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner.’ 14 “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”" He's the type of "Christian" that makes decent people despise Christians. Keith

TreedaBlackdog comes across as a tool of Satan to drive people from Christianity, whether he knows it or not. In a lot of tales, Satan takes the form of a black dog. Keith

I believe Sarah taking things in to her own hand was just another example of Eve taking the fruit. She should have had faith in what God told her and Abram. And Abraham should not have taken of that fruit. Maybe that fruit was extremely attractive. In both cases they tried to become as God's and do it there own way. And in both cases God made there imperfection work for his glory.
