Anybody run coon lines through orchards? Do you catch a fair number or just a stray once in a while? Thinking about trying it this fall and wondering if it’s worth the sets.

I catch a lot of them in the orchard during fruit season.

It's been years since I lived around orchards, but in my young days YES, making coon sets on the edges of orchards (between the trees and the woods) were always hot spots... even better if you find an orchard bordering a corn field.

Killing coons everyday here in the orchards. By the time they are worth keeping the survivors have usually moved out.

just like Mr Yotetrapper30 mentioned set the edges of the heavy cover should be some well defined runs leading in and out of the orchard if the orchard consists of different types of apples if you sampled the fruit to find the sweetest producing tree they will tend to clean that one out first

I never pass up even a loan apple tree so long as it is bearing fruit. A good spot to catch a variety of furbearers.

Quite literally one of the best dudes. Is probably more of a man than half the folks here.

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

If the season is open and there is sign there. I’d be setting.

A week or so ago, had 3 to 4 bushel of applies on Gala tree out front. Two days later, less than 1 bushel. Coons got the rest. They were not ripe to pick yet, but they don't care about that.

Bare tree not much of an attraction, but applies coming ripe are on the menu at any time.
