I like chess, but can rarely find anyone that wants to play it.
Proudly banned from the NTA.

I taught my whole 'hood to play and we would lay around under the trees and play all summer long, sunup to sundown.

I played chess a few weeks ago. Won every game. I’m possibly the greatest chess player in my house.
Of course my opponents were children, but I’m not letting anyone win unless they earn it.
I ain’t raising no freeloaders. No hand-outs in this family.

I am undefeated. I retired from it once my teen modelling career began. Who's the greatest now?!

I have to defend Keith. I have read a lot of his posts and he seems very intelligent as far as his posts. Now I don't post a lot because frankly like Keith I pretty much know most common things and can get the final jeopardy answer 50% of the time when I watch. I never trust a guy who always has to tell u how good he is I can't think of anything else I ever said I was good at here, except maybe jokingly, bragging back and forth with the other guys. What did I say that ticked you off? Keith

I used to be high school champion but haven't played more than a few games in the last 25 years or so.
I played a coworker many moons ago and she thought she was pretty good. She invited me and my lady friend over for dinner one evening. Afterwards she got the chess board out and wanted to play. She said she beat her husband all the time and wanted some new competition. I check mated her in 4 moves. She never saw it coming. She was devastated and didn't want to play a second game. I felt really bad about it. I never thought she wouldn't see what I was up to. LOL

My grandma played chess for many years. My brother and I played her but never won. He stalemated her once. The article below is from the La Crosse Tribune in 1954. She was just awarded the United States Women's Correspondence Chess Champion with a perfect score of 6-0. The game had started in 1951. She had a showcase full of trophies and was very proud of 'em. After she had a stroke she asked me to bring a chess board up to the hospital room. We played and she beat me. She said don't ever do that again. She knew I had not played my game. The next time I beat her and that was the last time she played chess. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2025/09/full-353-268816-chess.jpg)
