We have 2 in our county, one of which I went to. Stopped in yesterday because a filling (one of his) fell out that I'd like fixed. I knew it would be over a month until I could get in but that's the norm around here.

Nope the gal said, its been 9 years since you've been here for a root canal so that would make you a new customer and we haven't been taking on new customers for a couple years.

I'll guarantee I'm not in this boat alone, so if ya want to relocate to central Pa., there's A good opportunity here.

I would have come back with so you are unhappy that your previous work was of high enough quality that I didn't have to come back in a year or two for you to fix it? Seems like you would be in the business of wanting to do quality work.

all my expats who are now in the US and Western Europe still fly back here for dental work and surgeries, even those with good corporate insurance. So do some Americans. Even with the sanctions and no direct flights it's faster, cheaper and better here. Lots of excellent dental clinics here and very qualified doctors. I think there are about ten within a couple of miles from my home and I live in the suburbs of a very generic Russian city. It really is inexpensive, I'm poor but I can easily afford Swiss-made implants and have them done within a week. Same with joint replacement surgery should I ever need one. For instance, a hip replacement surgery in a complicated case, done in a top federal facility, costs around $2000, all tests and scans included.

The situation you are describing is very strange to me.

Perhaps it's a systemic problem with healthcare over there? Just curious.

We are covered up with dentists in my area.

Some of the dentists around here are advertising that they are taking new patients.

Found one 15 miles away in next county that can get me in in 3 weeks.

this is FACT! we still drive 3 hours to the dentist we had before we moved here.

if you don't mind the drive, I can make a call to see if he's taking new patients. (he's pretty good!)
